The Residents Update Meeting was pretty horrible. But, it is nice to know that every single department head can, in fact, read the words on a slide. And none appear to believe that the residents can. GRRRRRRRR

Oh and the new Food and Beverage guy must be outstandingly spectacular at food and beverage because he's running a massive deficit in personality. The last guy (the one who got fired) and in interim guy were both full of great, engaging personality. This guy would lose in a personality contest with a doorknob. I expect to see the food and service rise to new heights. They did promote one of the best waiters to bartender AND hired a second bartender which is a definite upgrade if you are a drinker.

But the real disconcerting part is the pool. They are going to change to saltwater this year. Saltwater pools use chlorine to keep it clean. My lungs hate chlorine. I'm not going to borrow trouble here. I'm absolutely going to try it out and hope for the best. And I may be able to play volleyball but not swim. We'll see. But, my days of swimming and volleyball may be numbered. Which is sad if true.

Could you accuse Timber Ridge of Switch and Bait? You moved there under the impression that the pool would not contain chlorine.

What's their reason to switching to salt water? Is the bromine more difficult to manage for proper cleanliness? Too much down time, as happened a few weeks ago?

I suspect...that's what they've been told. But saltwater isn't easy, either. Bromine is the superior choice BUT they need a chemist type of pool maintenance team, and it seems they don't have that or haven't put in the work to find that. This isn't a good solution and it's frustrating that you have no recourse. For an establishment of this calibre...one would think there would be more emphasis on researching this because deep research would be revelatory.

My SIL has a saltwater pool that does NOT use chlorine . . . She said it was more expensive and more difficult to set up in the first place than a chlorine pool but easier maintenance because she didn't have to fiddle with Ph and things after.
