There was no one in the pool but me but there were people in the workout room on the machines and they look out over the pool through the giant windows so I didn't close the blinds. I used my Polaroid dark goggles and it was fine. Just fine. Lovely, actually.

And now I'm home and dressed and it's still not yet 9. This is a good plan.

Before I left, I noticed the cats were missing and not annoying me as usual in the morning. When I went into the bedroom to get my suit, I found them. They have found a new spot. One for each.

When I got back, they were in a meeting...

James, by the way, is the worn out teddy bear. His job is to keep Julio from getting access enough to the screen to rip it. James does good work. He's 75 years old. He's had some hard years. A dog ripped his nose off in the 80's and he lost both eyes around the same time. But, he hangs in and takes his work seriously.

James was given to me by my Mom's boss when I was born. She kept the books for a guy from India whose name was difficult for 1940's Americans to pronounce so he called himself James.

Do you happen to remember where you got the little cubes the cats are sitting on in these pictures? They are EXACTLY what I've been looking for.

Oh good grief. Such a simple way to search and yet I had not been finding it. "cube shaped toy box" did NOT work. Thank you very much!

I was kind of giggling at your "crowded" pool with three other people in it, LOL. But I get it - there is nothing quite as awesome as a pool ENTIRELY to yourself! One time when I was travelling for work, we stayed at a Hilton in Connecticut, and after we got back from work dinner, I trundled down to the pool.

It was big, and in a large airy space with glass walls and ceiling - it would have been intensely bright and hot during the day, but at night, it was AMAZING - I swam for a while, and then floated on my back, looking up at the sky, until there were no ripples in the water and it was entirely still.

I'm glad your plan worked!

One does not refer to such people as "worn out". They prefer "well-seasoned" or "mature".
