So far... not a good day
Apr. 18th, 2024 07:22 amFor the past couple of days my nose has been running and it's annoying so I took an allergy pill each day. Then, last night, I remembered why I avoid those things. All night, I kept waking up because my mouth was so dry since apparently my nose was not working. I also discovered this morning that I forgot to raise the head of the bed which just made it worse.
My gout is still gouty and this morning even hurt after I put on my swim shoes. (BUT, it's an itchy hurt so that's generally an indication that it is clearing up. I hope hope hope.) I got to volleyball and after an hour between the sun beaming right into my eyes and my foot plus the guy who I really can't stand was playing right across from me and annoying the shit out of me so I gave my apologies and left. I do need to find a different position for volleyball or I will not be able to play much until about August when the sun starts to come up later and, hopefully, we get some overcast days. I really hate the fucking sun so much.
When looking at apartments here, I was very careful to make sure I asked about how much direct sun each of them got. And, now, having lived here, I'm even more grateful. Because the rest of the world is not like me, the architects very carefully designed this place so that most apartments get as much full sun as possible. I get a tiny sliver in the late afternoon. I picked wisely.
But I do need to figure out how to deal with the stupid sun. For volleyball, I'm going to play in a different position. For swimming, I'm not sure what I'll do and for everything else, I'll just hibernate inside until this whole sun thing goes away.
Myrna comes back today. Julio has missed her. He let me snuggle him twice yesterday!
They are going COVID shots here today. Mine's at 10:15. Nice to just be able to meander downstairs and get it done. No Mariner game today.
My new computer which was promised for delivery on Monday is coming tomorrow instead!
I think I'll make some toast and work on my attitude.

Date: 2024-04-18 04:33 pm (UTC)I generally like to avoid the sun and hide in the shade as much as I can - but I kind of wish my house had more sun to warm it up in the winter. Although the storm door on the front has helped enormously to let more daylight into the living room!
