The sun is out so I am not!
May. 1st, 2024 08:21 amWe were supposed to have one more day of clouds but I guess we didn't pay the bill cause the stupid sun is out. I skipped the swim in protest. And also because I'm lazy.
I subscribe to Fubo for Mariners broadcasts. This costs me 100fuckingdollars a month for which I am profoundly resentful. Because I have it, I also watch Jeopardy, the news and HGTV. Yesterday Fubo lost a pissing match with Warner Bros and dropped 19 channels - one of them was HGTV.
Whatever left of the world after global warming finishes the bake off, I'm sure there will be much that is Not As Good As It Was. But, the world of TV has got to be in the Better Than It Was pile. Really nothing could be worse than it is now.
Yesterday the house got cleaned and then I did all of the laundry in the house so today I am caught up with life. The Mariners game is at 1.
Myrna talked to Joan a couple of times yesterday. "I told her to call me whenever she wants even if it's just because she's bored." This is the greatest gift you could give Joan. She LOVES talking on the phone. I can hear her phone ringing if all is quiet in my apartment and it rings a lot. When I hear it, I think 'gift for Joan!'.
Anyway, they made her get up for a bit. And she's looking into rehab places. It's doubtful there is any room in the nursing wing here so she'll have to find a different place. The other big news is that she doesn't have to have a catheter. I remember that was Mom's main objection to going to the hospital. Now, apparently, they have a not-at-all-bothersome external catheter. Huge relief.
I'm going to work today on my baby blanket project and then need to set it aside and finish up the test crochet blanket. I have no interest in finishing it but I promised the pattern writer that I would and I will. Then I can get back to the blanket which is now going very smoothly and satisfyingly.
Crickets from the IRS and from the trust attorney. The condo for sale down the hall from mine has now been pending for more than a month. That must be stressful. I keep checking because I want to know the final sales price.
Guess I'll get dressed. My bed is already made. There will be puzzling today if only to be out there to catch passerbys and find out what's new. I might actually do some shelf review today - walk the hallways of some of the other floors. My toe can probably handle it and I need to see what everyone has out. I changed mine a bit the other day.
