I specifically requested an apartment with ZERO direct sun and was assured this was one. And, it is, kinda. But I can tell that this Summer is going to have some brutal mornings. My gauze curtain over the door to the terrace is a lifesaver already. This morning the sun came screaming into the bedroom and living room by 6:30. On the up side, it passes over fairly quickly and now it is 7:30 and the worst of it appears to be gone already.
I got permission from the pattern writer to do a modified version of the blanket and I think I can actually finish that by this weekend. Whew. I want to get back to the bubble baby blanket.
The condo down the hall from mine finally sold. $745,000 from asking of $755,000. Not a bad deal at all. They had a few more upgrades than I do and don't have a purple counter in the kitchen so I'm harboring no delusion that I will get that much but I think my chances now of getting something in the neighborhood of $600,000 or better are very good.
I think I'm going to blow off swimming today. While the direct sun has moved away from here, it is now beaming right into the pool. I could go but I am lazy and going to use the sun as my excuse. I think I'll have another cup of coffee instead.
The house cleaner was here on Tuesday and already there are cat hair clumps on the carpet where clearly debates have happened and a big ole patch o' Biggie on the ottoman. I have avoided getting any kind of vacuum but I think a cheap stick one needs to go on the When My Ship Comes In list. A peace stick. THANKGOD I made them rip out what white carpet. That would have been more of a disaster than I even suspected at the time.
After the poop incident of the other day, I decided to camera up the litter robot. They sell an attachment for adding a camera but the damn thing cost $50. I DIY'd it for $0 yesterday. Leftover Wyze cam w/magnets.

It took Julio zero seconds to discover it but he did not object.

I'm sitting at my table by the window looking out onto the green green hills but also seeing people coming and going down below. The rock sculpture just below my window turns out to be a water fountain! And this morning they were trying out different cushions on the benches.

I have been here six months now. And I have the opposite of regrets. I am so glad I did not do the smart thing and wait until my condo was sold. Hazel and John and Myrna and I were talking at lunch the other day about all the little things that make this place such a wonderful place to live. Many of them could change tomorrow without their violating any agreements but for now we are just enjoying all of it. I know I am.
