The sky is cloudless and the sun is taking full advantage. I could swim later but I think, today, I'm going to go to the other side of the complex and walk the 7 floors and check on everyone's shelf decorations and elbow activities. I have not done that in a while and today seems perfect for it.
My Direct TV trial is over. It costs $121 a month but there's 10% for the first three months, which is nice. But, honestly, I'm really feeling like it's worth the bucks. It's an extremely easy and pleasant way to watch TV. GoogleTV is ok. The UI was a little clunky (it's been a year so there may have been changes) and not very intuitive. I found it cumbersome to find stuff (like which recorded programs I'd already watched) and clunky. Fubo was just a pile of junk. Blind fast forwarding. Limited recording storage. No undelete. Lots of waiting for the software to catch up and major glitches regularly. Plus no PBS, no HGTV, nothing Warner Brothers.
Google TV worked out to about $85 a month but no Mariners baseball. Fubo was $105 a month with Mariners baseball, about $85 without. So clearly Direct TV is more but gives way more as well.
I'm already thinking I might keep it after baseball.
I left my door open yesterday - open open, not just ajar. Bonny came by (my apartment is on the way to the trash chutes) and said she was puzzling so I wandered down to the elbow to help. We'd been working away for about 20 minutes when we heard a very close "meow!" And there was Biggie, in the elbow!! He saw us and then went home. Everyone is so concerned about their getting out. Where the fuck are they going to go?? They can't reach the elevator button or open any doors even if they wanted to and why would they? Their food and toys and beds are here. And they know to run if a dog or something else strange is coming.
Last week - Tuesday? I logged onto Virginia Mason (where I hope my new PCP will be) and requested an appointment with a proper eye doctor. I heard nothing until Friday. On Friday I got a note that I had to be referred by a PCP. I logged onto MyChart and requested a referral. My PCP sent a note that he was out of the office and would send it Monday. Crickets from everyone since then. I'm sure glad my request isn't an emergency. Geesh. I could call but I won't.
I think I'll get dressed and hit the hallways.
