John asked for my computer help which was a big deal. He's not one to ask for a favor like that. He's mentioned issues before and even told me last week that for one of them, the IT guy came to fix and said it couldn't be fixed.

So... in I went. He had 3 problems. 1. it kept asking him for his Microsoft account credentials. He has no Microsoft account. 2. it kept throwing up a Gmail account whenever he clicked on AOL. He has no Gmail account. 3. His photo app quit showing his photos. Only icons showing the photos are missing.

It's been a loooooong time since I touched a Windows machine. And even longer since I really tried to make one do something. So I did a lot of floundering. I found all his photos but couldn't make the app do squat. The troubleshooter said there wasn't any problem. Finally, I deleted the app, rebooted and reinstalled. Which, of course, I should have done first. Problem 3. fixed. He was so happy.

The Gmail account was weird. Very weird. And, of course AOL is a giant mystery. I couldn't find how to set defaults or create defaults or do anyfuckingthing. Then, I noticed he had two desktop icons for AOL. He always used the same one and it had a telltale (1) beside it. So I deleted it. And moved the original up to its spot. It worked perfectly, no Gmail. He was really happy.

And I am pretty sure I also got Windows to finally understand that he does not have nor does he ever want to use a Microsoft account. And, I told him not to click on anything that said OneDrive or iCloud.

By this time it was hard for him to contain himself. And just then, Hazel came back from exercise.

So her story - and the one she's spreading - is that she came home heard laughter from the hallway and came in to find John had girl company! Plus, when I left, "he has done nothing but sing Susan's praises since!"

It was pretty funny. I was so glad I could fix him.

Then we went to lunch. I forgot to order potatoes and Hazel had more than she could handle so she paid me for computer work with potatoes! Fine by me.

After lunch, Myrna came in to visit Julio. And he let her pick him up!! And then have a proper cuddle on the couch!

He did not even come close to protesting. It was wild.

She brought brownies because, turns out, she had a problem, too. Experian keeps billing her. So we logged onto Experian and, sure enough, she had their top membership which she has zero need of so we canceled. I have the cancellation number for her account. And marked it on my calendar. If the charge appears next month, we bring out the guns.

Mariners game is at 6:30. So I have some time for other TV and knitting this aft.

Adorable photos! Myrna looks nowhere near her actual age.
