I ate my last breakfast burrito yesterday and did not get around to making more. I had two store bought ones in the freezer and pulled one of them out this morning. Ugh. What a great incentive for me to make more of the good kind. Today. I think I have 4 tortillas left.

Kitty litter comes in light and regular. My Litter Robot hates the light version and I hate the regular. We're in a battle. I finally ordered some from Amazon but the smallest they well is 18 pounds. I do not want to be schlepping an 18 pound box anywhere for anything. Happily they fucked up the order and returned my money. I guess I'll look in the grocery store and see if they sell as version the regular that I can fucking carry.

Last night, the Rolling Stones had a concert in the football field across the street from my condo. I loved those giant events for 30 years (well 20 anyway because the first 10 were before the new stadium was built and you couldn't hear stuff from the old stadium because it was doomed). I did not miss the hassle of living next to a giant venue yesterday one single bit.

So, how was the Food and Beverage Committee Meeting? It was really interesting. The chairman is this woman who is really annoying. Just passing her in the hallway makes me judgie. Yes, Libby, we all have saggy boobs. It's a thing. But you are the only one who's nipples I see on the regular through your blouse and fucking wear a bra! And buy a brush. And use it. If you are going to wear your hair hippy long and die it colors why the fuck can't you run a comb through it now and again?? I think we need to set you up a GoFundMe and get you a mirror.

Whew. I had some stuff pent up there... Also someone yesterday suggested that they get name tents for the table so everyone will know who everyone is. Her response: Oh I don't want to have to do that. Then someone said, well, if you ask at the front desk, they will do it for you. Her response: Oh, what a bother.

Ok, I'm done with Libby. It didn't take much to chair the meeting and she managed it. There's a whole committee of about 8-10* and then there was the head Food and Beverage Guy, the head chef, the director of food and beverage and a sous chef. And visitors (me, my friend, Martha and two guys I didn't know).

In the end it turned into a Report from the head guy on stuff we're planning, thinking about, going to do in the kitchen, dining room, pick up areas and menus. And, here are a list of complaints and comments we've gotten recently and how we plan to address each. That part was really really interesting. Then the committee members asked some questions. Most were valid. A couple were whiny. Then they let visitors ask questions. Most were valid. A couple were whiny. And the whole thing was done in an hour. I am totally going again next month.

*At the start of the meeting, Libby announced that one of the members had moved out of Timber Ridge and so would have to have her duties filled by someone else. She then said that the woman moved out during her "decide if you want to stay period". This was interesting on many levels. I had heard that there was a long waiting list to get onto the committee and it took a long time to move up. The Decide time is 4 months. So she moved in, got on the committee and left all within 4 months??? I looked her up after and she was here with her husband in a large 2 bedroom apartment on the 7th floor. Curious for sure. AND now there is an opening on the committee!

Today I have two Amazon things to return. So I might stop at the grocery while I'm out AND/OR maybe Papa Murphy's. It's a lovely cool and cloudy day. Perfect for errands.

And I have sewing to do. I need to take up the sleeves in my robe. I've been meaning to do it for a long time but it's getting done now because I need the fabric to add room to the sleeves on a summer shirt that is just too tight around my fat arms. I sure do miss my wall of fabrics. It was so handy just to 'shop there for any little piece of anything I needed'. Now I have to cannibalize one piece of clothing to make another fit better! Oh well. Not that big a deal.

No baseball today.

Libby sounds like my sister if you add the smell of musty patchouli. I think she thinks she's got a hippie vibe going, but really it's just a bit skudzy.

The time to decide thing is I think one of the coolest aspects of TR. It's such a huge decision and such a different way of life, and it could go in so many different directions. I could see people coming in and finding it wasn't for them, and the thought of feeling that but being stuck with it is just...brrr. There isn't anywhere exactly like Timber Ridge in NZ, but good luck leaving a retirement village here once you've moved in. Not only do you have to surrender some of what you paid, you have to keep paying weekly fees until they sell to someone else, which can take months.

Definitely my favorite typo for this week. (Of course the stadium was doomed, but who knew?)
