Dry days

I have a persistent athletes foot. No redness. No itching. But peeling. I slather on antifungal/athletes foot cream every single morning before I put my socks on and it goes away. I skip one morning and it comes right back. So now I'm trying dry feet. I'm going to skip the pool for two days and see what that does.

So if I don't swim, I walk. Today I'll do floors 4, 3, 2 and 1 of the north hall (the opposite hall from mine). Then tomorrow I'll do 8, 7, and 6 and maybe 5 here on this side.

I like to leave my door open - not just ajar but open. I can see the comings and goings from the couch AND people can see the cats and pop in for little things instead of big visits. It's just nice. BUT I like to watch TV and I had to bleed the TV sound out into the hallway.

Yesterday I remembered that one of my Roku remotes has a headphone jack. I found it and charged it up and then couldn't find earbuds. Finally found some very uncomfortable ones and it worked great BUT Myrna popped in to tell me something and I didn't even hear her come in - she said knock knock but her voice is very quiet.

After she left, I realized that what I really needed was my bone conducting headset. It's WAY more comfortable and I can hear stuff outside while watching TV - a much more normal experience. So then I started researching Bluetooth transmitters that I could plug into the Roku remote. I was just about to hit BUY when the lightbulb went off. Surely this fancy ass TV has Bluetooth built in... A very quick Google and two clicks of the TV remote and my bone conducting headset was hearing my TV!!!

This is how I will watch TV forever from now on. It is perfection. Baseball games have commercials every half inning and every time they change pitchers. So that's a minimum of 20 commercials a game. Sadly, they only have about 4 ads in the repertoire so you see the same shit over and over and over again. I've taken to just hitting mute and then unmute which is a pain but not as painful as listening to the same stupid ads again.

My headset is very lightweight and easy peasy to pop off and rest on my neck and then pop on again. So that's what I did for the ads and it was perfect! Seriously I'm never again using the TV sound. Only the headset.

The ballgame is at 10:30 today and my hall walk will take about an hour - probably less but an hour will give me a rest when I hit the library so I can check out what's new. I think I'll just get dressed and go. It's a little more lovely to do hall walks before everyone is out and about.

Are you treating your shoes as well ? The fungus can linger in shoes, too. I've found that treating them with an antifungal powder before i put them away for the night helps to knock it out of them.
