Flower Day

There are a dozen old men outside planting flowers among the evergreen plants on the terrace. Those patches of garden are going to be stunning in about a month. Here's the before shot.



Also, turns out, one of those old men is an old woman! Represent.

At elbow coffee today, Myrna told the $12.99/$2.99 elephant story and brought one out for show and tell.



She went on and on about how wonderful the store was now Noelle wants to go and Martha and Bonny. So we may have to get a big car and make another trip.

So now volleyball is done and elbow coffee is done. The game starts at 3:30 today so busy day anyway.

Last night's game was on Apple+. Their pregame show is horrible in so many ways but their actual game broadcast is pretty good and you can pick your audio - regular TV, local Spanish radio or local English radio. And the radio is synced up perfectly with the TV. I flipped back and forth and it was great fun. Plus, of course, we won which was lovely.

Today is Fox which is usually pretty bad and does not offer the radio option but hey, bad baseball is better than no baseball.

Man, they are putting a shitload of flowers. They keep bringing out more flats.

I had a dream last night that I spotted you and Myrna at Pike Place Market.

Brooksby has a bunch of of garden plots used by residents, ranging from about 6'x6' to about 10;x10'. Some of of them are on the path that leads from our building to the rest of the campus, so we walk past them frequently. Right now they're looking pretty spectacular.

Since we still have Gloucester (where we moved for the summer yesterday), we haven't looked into how one gets one of these plots, but I'm guessing there's an extensive waiting list.

Oh we have those, too. There are maybe 20 or so sprinkled around the property and they have very small cute little tags on them to tell you whose patch it is. One woman has tulips in hers and they were a massive WOW last month. The rest are flowers and veggies and herbs. Two of the guys I play volleyball with are in charge of the plots and helping people get good dirt and keeping them tidy. They have promised me tomatoes.

Oh, I didn't realize the elephant was also a planter! Very cute.

Since we don't have AppleTV+, we couldn't watch Friday's Red Sox game. I really hate that MLB is screwing around with TV rights.

Oh I totally agree. As much as I like the Apple tv games, they need to have all the games available on one source at a minimum. We had apple tv on Friday and Fox on Saturday and today, I hope, it's back to our usual. (The Fox was particularly odious since they hired the Mariner broadcaster I hate to do the play by play. So I got the worst of the worst. But, we did win...)
