When paper towels first became readily available, they were deemed an expensive luxury. You bought one dish towel and washed it over and over again and used it forever. You just threw away the paper towel - money down the drain. Unless you were my grandparents. My maternal grandparents would NEVER have used paper towels. "We don't have money to burn!" But, my paternal grandparents took a different route. They bought those precious paper towels and washed them out for reuse! You could walk into their kitchen most any time and wet paper towels were drying. My grandfather even rigged up a small clothes line in the kitchen just for paper towel drying. I don't suspect they ever bought more than one or two rolls.

I think of them now every time I do laundry. I go through the pockets of my clothes before washing and remove all the Kleenex and never even come close to getting it all. Pulling clothes out of the dryer always includes several now, very clean, Kleenexes. I just pulled on a hoodie and found a big, clean, wad of tissue.

I need to come up with a better plan.

My swim was good. I also did several laps of jogging very fast. I have now earned my afternoon of knitting.

It's raining lightly and steadily outside and the newly planted flowers must be sooooo happy.

I went to Papa Murphy's yesterday and blew $7 on a pizza. That is really the very best deal in town. It's a 12 inch pizza which makes 3 or 4 meals for me and all are perfectly delicious. I love that place. So I have pizza and other leftover delights.

I have absolutely nothing planned for this whole week. Now, that's some luxury right there. I might use it to do more health insurance investigation.

My nephew turns 45 today.

I wish the kleenex would stay in the pockets when I accidently include one with the wash. I washed a load yesterday and the kleenex bits were everywhere.

I reuse paper towels at my client's home. I imagine them thinking that I use so much less than their other dog sitters, but that's wild imagining because I seriously doubt that they actually give it a second thought. At home, I use a towel almost always, but my kids use the paper towels with reckless abandon.

Regarding paper towels, I've had a conflicting relationship with them for a while. They're obviously such a wasteful symptom of our civilization, but they're so convenient. I go without so many things; a smartphone, social media, etc., but paper towels are still something that I still use, unfortunately. I've never used a drier, though. We have a sun, and as I have enough clothes to wait until my wet clothes dry, I've never seen the necessity of such a thing.

Congratulations on your nephew reaching 45, though! May he reach 120!

Also thank you for your interest in my little journal :-)
