Frank picked me up this morning and we went off to Duvall to this restaurant recommended to him. Duvall is a tiny town near several other tiny towns and surrounded by green forests where the odd house here and there are nestled. (Why do people who live out in the country have so many vehicles? Some of these houses had a dozen, some on blocks, some just parked. Not everybody in the country could be having a party at the same time.)

This restaurant Flavour Bistro was kind of meh from the outside but inside was lovely. I had a very delicious bloody Mary and a perfectly fabulous croque madame. Frank had a bunch of things and everything - including the coffee - was just perfect. It was very weird to have such good food with such excellent service in such a lovely place in this weird little town. But, what a find and what a perfect spot for a Sunday drive/brunch.

We came back here and Frank came in for a really short time to say hi to the cats. Julio let him pet him which is a first and Frank declared a lovely birthday present.

The Mariner games of Friday and Saturday were so horrible that I was not even stressed about missing today's. I turned on the TV to see what the final score was and it was the 10th inning! The Mariners won in the 11th so perfect baseball.

Then I knitted and watched CBS Sunday Morning.

The out to the elbow to start the new puzzle. It's one with coded backs. Each piece has A's or B's or C'd or D's on the back side and is a normal jigsaw on the front side. I'd heard of these puzzles but have never done one. It was in the pile I got at Goodwill. At first I was going to ignore the backs but then thought better of that plan so today I sorted them all according to their letters. I'm guessing they are the four corners of the puzzle. I'll find out tomorrow when I turn over the first group.

Now I'm going to watch the news and maybe make a BLT for dinner.

Fun fact, Flavour Bistro was originally opened and owned by Chef Sean Langan, who owned Amore in Seattle. We went there a lot and had our wedding reception there.

The restaurant sounds lovely. I suppose even small towns need a restaurant and they got lucky that good cooks wanted to live there instead of moving to (or staying in) the city. Hopefully they get enough business to keep going.

I've done coded-backs puzzles before, and some of them have lots of close fitting pieces that aren't in fact correct, but it's really hard to tell that looking from the picture side. One in particular regularly drove me to check whether the backs of a pair of pieces appeared to go together as well as the fronts.
