I keep Biggie's kibbles in a great plastic jar that has a flip up lid. Sadly, when I moved in here and he had to change food, I washed it in the dishwasher and melted it a little. The flip up lid is a mess now. I got it at Daiso years ago. This morning I decided it was time to replace it with a new one.

I was puzzling in the elbow when she came out and I said "I need to make a Daiso trip. You interested?"

"YES!! What's Daiso."

Not only had Myrna never heard of it but neither had Hazel or John or even Noelle! I have so much work to do here. But first Myrna. I told her that she was going to lose her mind. And she did. It was pretty hilarious. When we got to the 47 different patterns of chair socks... About midway through, I asked her "How are you going to describe this to Noelle?" Noelle will want all of the details. "I'm just going to tell her that she has to see this for her self."

This is a big Daiso and we walked the whole store. I got the replacement lid flipping jar and some other cool stuff and Myrna got a new tea strainer and some nail polish. Between us, I think we spent $20. And we had a massively good time doing it.

Except it really is far more exhausting to me to walk slowly around a store, than to walk quickly to get somewhere. I'm beat.

Not a peep from the trustee who promised a call or email by end of day. Guess I'll be calling him tomorrow morning. I'm so tired of this shit.

But I did get a very fun call this morning. Christian, the designer who helped me set up my apartment, has a job helping another new resident get their apartment fixed up and moved into. There are three marketing people here. Each new resident is assigned one. None are good but the head one is a disaster. He drew her. "I'm calling to vent." We had a bunch of laughs and he said he will be needing to meet me for breakfast and/or lunch at my favorite spot to dish and dirt and catch up. I said HOORAY!!!!!

Daiso sounds very cool. Wish we had one here.

I had never heard of Daiso before either so I looked it up. Sad Face. The nearest (and only) Canadian one is in Vancouver. The closest would be in Queens, a good 12 hour drive from here.

I look forward to hearing all of Christian’s dirt. I kind of miss the condo gossip.

I also don't recall ever hearing of Daiso before, but it turns out there are several in a reasonable driving range from me, one of them a mere 3.46 miles away from the center of my zip code.

I experience the same phenomenon and I am convinced there is a name for it, but I sure don't know it.
