The Mariner game is on now - they are playing a day game in Florida. They are in a period of massive suckage. One can hope that we're on the tail end of it, but this is the Mariners. It would last until next season.

I slept great last night and had a lovely swim this morning. I called the Trustee (who never got in contact yesterday) and left a voice mail. And sent an email saying I'd call again this afternoon if I didn't hear from him sooner.

It's a cloudy and cool day today so I think a trip to Safeway is in order. My list is getting long.

When the TV is on or I'm listening to my book, the ice maker can sound like someone knocking on the door. I keep telling it to Come On In!

Woot!!! Just got an email from the Trustee. It was not his usual 18 paragraph excuse for not doing what he promised. Interestingly, he said that when I call him it catches him by surprise and he wants to please so he makes promises that when he gets to his calendar he sees he cannot keep. While this is the dumbest excuse ever and a really ridiculous when you consider this dude is not a kid. He's a grandfather and old enough to know better. But, whatever.

He says he will do it today for sure and call me before 5 with the details. I kinda think he will. But, I've thought that many times over the past 2+ years so ...

The Mariners are now losing so I guess I'll go get dressed.

I have a coworker like that - when you talk to him, he NEVER says no - it's always "yes, sure, no problem!" - but them he gets off the phone, and reality hits and he has (valid) reasons why he isn't going to get to the thing in the timeframe he promised.

It's REALLY ANNOYING. I would *far* rather that he stop, take a minute, look at his schedule and his list and go "you know what, I can get this done next week, but this week, I'm swamped".

But he just never wants to say no, because he wants to say yes and make you happy. I'm LESS happy when he fails to actually succeed, than I would be if he told me up front!

Let me tell you all the ways I'm not giving you your money today...

I honestly think he's trying to stall until you die so you wont sue him. He probably has no intention of ever willingly giving you that money. He might not even have it anymore. That's just a hunch.

He said he thought it was a joke to play it off.

The Mariners are now losing

Well, they were behind by one run. I'm not sure that counts as "losing" that early in the game.

Someone I see online in a different medium is a long-time Little League coach, and I remember him once saying that when someone asks him which team is winning, he replies that he can tell them which team is ahead, but nobody is "winning" until the game is over.

As the Mariners did eventually demonstrate in that game.
