Actually, I'm probably the idiot in this case

The lawyer called at 5 like he said he would and said that he would have a check tomorrow and that he'd contact the two investment companies and have them contact me and Sam directly.

I lost it. This is EXACTLY what he said two years ago. The check he's talking about is the proceeds from the sale of the house - which he sold two years ago. The investments have been sitting at those same two companies for two years. The only thing that has changed is my level of frustration dealing with this jerk.

He has no idea what he's doing.

I said my piece. I told him he's got all the funds and all the power and his torturing us with his for two years is inexcusable. I asked him to send the money as soon as possible and quit making promises he had no intention of keeping.

The bottom line is that ship is never coming in. And my struggling to deal with that fool has netted me nothing but stress and frustration. I'm done. If we get money, great.

But, I'm done chasing it. I sent an email to Sam and told him if he wanted to pursue legal action against this guy, I was with him 100%. I don't think it's worth it but I wouldn't mind seeing him embarrassed or inconvenienced.

Yes Yes, I could. But the bar association in question is in Oklahoma and they don't give a shit so not worth the effort. But I did look into that pretty deeply.
