Check the sky... pigs are flying
Jul. 2nd, 2024 04:12 pmI got emails* this afternoon from SteveTheLawyer that he is sending a check tomorrow via FedEx. It's for less than 1/3rd what he owes me but it's better than a poke in the eye. My car repair bill looks a lot less tragic.
He sent two emails and a text. The first one included a very minor (but actually the first) overview of the trust accounting. And said he was going to send checks - one to me and one to Sam. The second said he was going to FedEx the check to me and did Sam want to stop in and pick his up? The text advised me to read the emails.
I suspect he's waiting for profuse thank you replies. I hope he's holding his breath.
But, I will be happy to get the $$.
In other news... Biggie's been getting bored lately and driving me a little nuts. This afternoon, he would not let me post this. So.
We went for a walk. I opened the door and let him out. I followed him as he meandered down the hallway. He kept looking back at me "we doing this? really? no shit? I can just go where ever???" He sniffed all the smells and stopped at every door and then we finally got to the elbow. I sat and played games on my phone and he hung out at the window for the longest time. Then, finally, I herded him home. He walked, I followed and blocked his attempts to turn around. I opened the door and in he came. He got a treat.
We may well do that again.
My brother's oldest is getting married. In October of 2025 (we think). It's her first wedding and she's already milking it dry. It's hilarious. She's pounding my brother for family details and pictures. And he's asking me stuff he doesn't know or can't remember. I think the wedding bit is way over the top (she says as judgey as can be) but I'm enjoying being a resource.

Date: 2024-07-02 11:36 pm (UTC)I also imagine he would be smart enough to know how to get on an elevator safely, wait for someone to open and close the door for him and let him off on what floor he wants to get on. He will also probably run and up down the emergency stairs as well.
If Biggie was a Turkish Van, or a Bengal, you would probably also have a swimming companion who would love your pool.

Date: 2024-07-02 11:53 pm (UTC)Also wanted to let you know I have found three more $15 type puzzles ranging from 500 pieces to 1000 for $1.25 at Dollar Tree. There are four different ones all together, I think the company that makes them is going out of business.
Also I don't know if you are into local history of Seattle, but their is a very good movie called "The Boys in the Boat", that was directed by George Clooney about the University of Washington Men's rowing team that made it the 1936 Olympics in Berlin and how they competed. It was quite good and historically accurate. It mainly features a local man named Joe Rantz, and his hardships during the depression and apparently after college he worked as engineer in Boeing, and I know you mentioned some for the retirees worked at Boeing too. So they might have known him, he just passed away in 2007. Their is also a good documentary about the Rowing Team as well on PBS American Experience from 2016 called "The Boys of ’36". I found it on YouTube last month, and hopefully it is still their.
