Some like it cold but some don't

The air register in my bedroom blows right on my face. If the thermostat is set for colder than it is, it blows cold on my face while I'm in bed. I woke up this morning thinking that this was just heaven. I was snuggled into my quilt and kept cool by that air. It was luxurious.

The air conditioning is broken in Martha and Richard's apartment. They live on my floor but on the other side of the complex. Martha is in charge of the bake sale in two weeks and she's worried about it being too hot to turn on her oven to bake. I would be on a freakin' rampage if my air conditioning was broken and not fixed immediately. I'm counting my lucky stars (and telling Martha to come use my oven any time she wants).

Yesterday it was 80 degrees out most of the day. In late afternoon I went out to the elbow to puzzle. Myrna came out wrapped in an afghan folded over for thicker coverage. She had tried to read out on her terrace but got too cold. Her feet and legs never get cold but the rest of her stays freezing. Her hands are like blocks of ice.

The air conditioning units in my condo have filters that need to be cleaned. Plus I remembered the guy who sold me the unit said they would come back and inspect it for free after a year. So I sent a note to the realtor/renter explaining this. He said they had not used the air conditioning yet but he'd take care of it. WTF????? I thought their electric bill was pretty low (way lower than mine last year) last month but no air conditioning at all?? Nuts. Just crazy.

The sun is now blasting my terrace. I need to go water a plant that I have out there. The only time I remember to do it is when the sun is blasting my terrace. In fairness, this sun on terrace thing only lasts about an hour this time of year so the fault here is clearly mine.

There will be no going anywhere today. No place/desire to go plus too hot and no car a/c anyway. Plus afternoon Mariner game and puzzling and indoor stuff.

I want to transfer a large amount of money from BECU to Key Bank. Inter bank transfers at both places have amount limits that prevent me from transferring all I want easily. So I started Friday with a small amount. Then I realized I could just write a check on the BECU account and deposit it into Key Bank. Doh. But, I'd have to wait until Thursday or go early in the morning before it got hot. Until this morning when my brain finally kicked in.

Double Triple DOH DOH DOH How Stupid Are You Old Woman???

I can write a check on the BECU account and deposit it into Key Bank ON MY FUCKING PHONE RIGHT NOW!

It's a good thing I'm pretty.

[edit] Turns out, I'm not that pretty. There are, apparently, amount limits on phone check deposits. But, at least I was able to get more in. So moving the needle... a little at a time... really really 1st world problem here.

There was an amount limit on my USAA deposit too but I needed more one day. I called and asked. My limit is now $25000. Now all I need is a check for that much to deposit.
I'm glad I asked for that one time when it matters

ohh cool. I might just call key bank although I don't expect USAA level service ... but won't know until I ask.

ok so. 1. They have a very easy chat. 2. no way to raise the limit but 3. confirmed that ATM deposit is no limit

so now i know and ATM is not that inconvenient. cool

Interesting. Good for you to know. Logical from their perspective.
Now you mention it, when I ran up to the limit I went and found a USAA ATM (there's like 10 in the world) and there was an even lower limit there which is when I called
Love banks.

I had to move a big fat amount of money last week and it was way above the limit for internet banking. I called the bank's helpline and they said "You can do it in the branch... (obviously I'm thinking NOOOOOOO!)...or you could send us a photo of yourself holding your ID". YAY! Done! Nice when people think sensibly about things.
