So... the harness and leash arrived. Biggie was not thrilled but I managed to get it on him, get the leash tied to the door and then the leash attache to the harness and then propped the door open.

Biggie sat in the kitchen for a long while but then, when my back was turned, went out into the hallway and sat there.

He stopped trying to get it off pretty quickly. When I went out to dinner, I unhooked the leash. And then there was this.

This morning he's driving me a little nuts but seems totally oblivious to the harness. Now he's wrestling with Julio and the chase is on. I have a quick errand this morning but then I'll open the door and hook up the leash and maybe we'll go down to the elbow.

Last night's 3rd floor picnic was ok. Wrangling old people around something they don't do every day is an issue. It was hard to hear people talk and there was a lot of confusion and some very bad (locally produced) music, but the food was good and there weren't too many bugs and it wasn't terribly hot and I managed to escape after about an hour and a half. I still don't get the appeal of eating outside. It's different but that's really not enough to persuade me.

This afternoon is the Food and Beverage Committee meeting which is always interesting.

I'm glad the leash is bright green - I was having visions of people tripping over it :D

Every time you mention leaving your door wide open - it reminds me of living in the dorms in university where people would leave their doors open to the hallways :D

If Julio isn't enough of playmate at times, I am wondering if a small dog that is cat friendly might help Biggie burn off some of his energy, and that you can set up play dates for Biggie. Julio might eventually come around to playing with a small dog as well, though it would probably take a bit.
