susandennisI have a new coffee mug. For several years, I've used an Ember - a very pricey keep-your-coffee-hot mug. It is controlled by a very poorly written phone app. It's not aging that well. For quite a while now I've been researching a replacement. I finally settled on one and it had a nice price reduction for Prime Day so I bought it. The lip feel is not as perfect as Ember but the rest of it is so much better and it is different. I just realized that my coffee was cooling down. I have about a 3rd left and I've been sipping on it for a good half hour. And then I realized that I had not turned my mug on! No phone app. Just press a button. Now my remaining coffee is nicely hot again!
Biggie still hates his harness with a passion but goes for long stretches without trying to chew it off. I hooked up the leash yesterday and he went down to the elbow. He was fine and had a good time greeting everybody as they came by. And he let me puzzle. After about an hour, he decided it was time to go home and he did. I followed. He's one hilarious cat, I tell you.
Right now, he and Julio are discussing/arguing/wrestling/chasing. I wish they would save this for Tuesday mornings so that the house cleaner can tidy up after them Tuesday afternoons. All go through and gather all the tufts of fur later. Replacing the white carpet that was in here was price but I am soooooooo glad I did. This carpet doesn't hide much but it doesn't feature it like white would.
At volleyball this morning I learned that there is a whole lotta COVID around here. The assisted living section has about 5 cases (out of 13 people in that section) but apparently everyone else who has left Timber Ridge to go out of town has come back with it. Everyone in the pool rattled off names of their friends with current cases. Yikes! At least here, you can easily stay in your apartment and get meals and whatever you need.
There was a lot of food left over from Tuesday's picnic. Since my fridge is the emptiest, they housed the leftover chicken here so I got to pick out all I wanted. I scored about 10 thighs. I had one for dinner last night and there's one in the fridge and 8 in the freezer. I am fried chicken rich. Yesterday evening Myrna came and got the rest and went door to door offering. I guess she unloaded it all because she did not come back.
I went to the Food and Beverage committee meeting yesterday and learned some interesting stuff. The chair of the committee asked me if I would consider joining the committee. I said that I be interested in learning the duties of committee members and she very vaguely said 'oh just come to two meetings a month and give your opinion'. She needs replacing. Then she mumbled something about committee recruiting in September. I told her I'd consider it.
I've got nothing going on today. I need to go to Costco to pick up a prescription but I had it sent to the Tukwilla Costco (about 45 mins from here). For some reason Hazel and John always go there instead of the one here and they say it is so much better. I have my doubts but Myrna is chomping at the bit to check it out. So I figured my prescription pickup is as good an excuse as any. We might go tomorrow. We might go next week.
I think I'll get dressed now and let Biggie out.
