My doctor is going on vacation this week and it's just not that good a time to have an appointment. But she was sufficiently apologetic about keeping me waiting and she's so good about 'getting' me that it's hard to stay pissed. My blood pressure still isn't good so now we have to take two of the bigger pink ones and one of the little pink ones and one of the giant torpedo ones.

And I had to give more blood. If I did good on today's blood test, I can quit taking the torpedoes.

She did go over the blood test I took last week and while I didn't follow everything she said, I did get that my liver is fine and my kidneys are fine and my glucose level is fine and my good cholesterol is fine and my bad cholesterol is too high. Shocking. Do you suppose it's the high fat content of my diet? Or the fact that I rarely get off my ass - except to go to the kitchen to find something else high in fat to eat? Who knows... She was cool about it, tho and suggested that we get the blood pressure good and then revisit the cholesterol thing. Works for me.

I go back on the 8th. IF I live through the dentist appointment next Wednesday.

My visit with Mr. Finance was fun as usual. He does the classiest thing. Whenever he wants you to mail him something he ALWAYS provides the appropriately sized envelope already affixed with the correct postage. If he mails you something to sign, there's always a stamped envelope. Always.

But, today, I told him I would be getting a check from Mom's estate this week and would just endorse it and sent it on to him. He said great, reached into his briefcase and pulled out a stamped envelope addressed to his office. It's a little thing but it never fails to impress the shit out of me.

Ok, now it's back to work. Cranky Client is ramping up. I swapped a couple of nice little emails yesterday with Cranky Client's boss who tactfully said in way nicer words 'hang on, don't let her bother you, she'll be gone in a week.' It helped tremendously to know.

You always surround yourself with the best sort of folks. You don't settle for shoddy people or services and that is one of the things that I like best about you and that I hope will some day rub off on me.

I've been watching your BP posts with interest because Stan's BP is up again. It had been taken care of with meds, but it's been soaring since we bought the condo, the accident, the slow summer season and lack of funds, his parent's declining health, the truck fucking up......
Hmmmm. Maybe he just needs to throw in the towel and we can go live on a deserted isle.
I'll be "all the rest" here on Stanley's iiiiiiiisle.

For what it's worth, there are a lot of things out there that are very tasty and have better fat content, if you do have to start watching it. I still eat most of the things I want (ice cream is hard, but can be done, pizza is just give up and eat it and ignore the fact that it breaks the rules, though - I've NEVER found a good low-fat cheese) without having too much 'bad' fat. Good luck. :)
