Milestone! This morning, I woke up at 5 and it was dark enough for me to need the lights on to feed the cats!!! It's now 6 and the sun is just coming up but I've had a whole hour of wonderful morning to enjoy.

I have volley ball at 7 and then the van leaves for the art show. I won't have time to come back up here in between. So I wanted to get all my shit together and ready to go before volley ball. Myrna said yesterday that she was going to rent a cart when we got to Bellevue and I suggested we just take my collapsible one. Which turns out to be a great idea. I can toss it in the storage area of the bus and then we can use it to carry shit around. Better than a backpack for old ladies.

The art fair is outside and the sun will be out. BUT it is just next to a large indoor mall so if it's too hot, I can mall sit or mall shop. It feels like I'm leaving home for the weekend but we'll be back here by 1:30 which suits me perfectly.

They announced the annual Timber Ridge Mariners game yesterday. It's an afternoon game on August 28. You pay ahead of time and are chauffeured to the game and home and the seats are terrace level which is ticket entrance only so shaded and not crowded. I, of course, signed up. We beat the White Sox 10-0 yesterday. The White Sox are having the worst year imaginable so it's like saying the Mariners beat the Timber Ridge team but still. A victory is a victory. Let's hope we can get 2 more before we move to on to Boston.

Ok. Off to the pool. Off to the arts fair. Back later.

Now, despite what I said on your other post about the White Sox, who are indeed having a historically miserable season, I note that when the Red Sox played there in June, Boston was stuck hovering around .500, which continued as they only managed a 4-game split; everybody (myself included) said if they can't beat the White Sox, how are they going to handle the upcoming series against the Phillies and Yankees? And then they managed to win both series, which was the start of best-in-the-majors run up to the All-Star break. (The Yankees, after a great start, have been stumbling for the last month and a half. I am as far from sorry about this as it is possible to be. And happy to have been present in person when the Red Sox continued to contribute to their misery last night.)

Which is all to say that the Mariners may be about to break out again, although hopefully not immediately after leaving Chicago.

FIELD TRIPS!

I feel like Timber Ridge is like summer camp - but better, because you get to sleep in your own bed every night!
