I took my new swimsuit down to do laps this morning. It has a great time. But the sun was brutal.

Last night was the first night since Spring that I went to sleep in the dark. Finally the days are getting noticeably shorter. So, hopefully, soon that sun will be out of my pool face. I might need to just start getting up earlier and see if I can beat it.

I have a friend, Frank. We can go weeks and even months without contact. But, more than several times, the weirdest thing happens. He will pop into my brain in a 'wonder how he's doing' kind of way, out of the blue. He's a phone caller and I'm not so I just let it go. And, then, a day or so later, he calls or texts. It's happened so often that it's kind of reliable!

Last week, I had a wonder how he's doing moment and let it go as usual and this morning I got the most delightful text from him. He's at the Mariner game and he sent a photo of his boyfriend (who 1, I had never seen but only heard about and 2, turns out to be cute!) having brunch at the Press Club at T-Mobile Park which is where my tickets were last year. He says that one of my favorite servers recognized him and asked about me which is so cool. Today is a perfect Press Club Mariner game day and I do hope they have a fabulous time.

Yesterday I started a new puzzle. A Springbok that has never been opened. Springbok used to be the Cadillac of puzzles. It's now the junk yard car of puzzles. Holy crap. I got all the pieces separated yesterday and they are horrible. Hard to fit, hard to work with. The picture is meh. I worked for a while and got a lot of the edges done but some pieces were cut like edges but not edge pieces so it was a hot mess. This morning, Myrna came out on her way to worship service and said she worked on it last night and it was not fun.

So I made the executive decision to kill it. Back into the box it went. I put it with the ones we have recently finished into my little cart and wheeled them all down to the arts room where I combed through the puzzle closet and found some, hopefully, good ones. But, we clearly need to go back to Goodwill and stock up.

Next up. The Mariner game. I'd love for them to win because I like it when they do but I'm particularly interested today in making Frank and Juan's Press Club day perfect!

I love busting out a new swimsuit! I usually buy mine as a tankini top/bottom combo so I can keep the still-good part and toss the other. Also I have a long torso so the two pieces fit better.

How sweet about Frank and how great that one of your favorite servers asked about you!

I'm not familiar with Springbok, but how disappointing that is! I thought ravenburger puzzles were supposed to be the really good ones, but clearly i'm not that up on my puzzle manufacturers! Smart to just kill it. Just like if you're reading a book and it's a slog, move on to something more fun!
