You work and I'll watch
Aug. 6th, 2024 03:33 pmSomeone asked me not long ago if the cats get stressed by the house cleaners. Julio gets curious. Biggie doesn't even get out of his basket. Even for vacuuming.

So, yes, the housecleaner came. Actually it was a substitute cleaner. No clue where mine was but I surely do appreciate their sending a sub instead of just ghosting me.
About 20 minutes after she was done, the GE tech called. Same guy as before so he knew how to get to the secret side entrance and he's in there now doing his fixin'.
For no good reason, I got a wild hair to swap out my Fitbit Sense for my Pixel Watch. I switched to the Sense last Fall and I can't remember why. They both have about the same number and severity of pros and cons, but different ones. It's actually kind of nice to change now and again.
John just came down for help with his computer. He's had troubles for a week or so but won't come get me but today he did. It looks to me like a wifi issue and the wifi in his apartment sucks. He's only two doors down. Weird. I tweaked some things and told him to report crappy wifi to the IT guy. And showed him how to monitor it.
At one point I came back here to get my laptop and phone to test his wifi (and it does indeed suck). When I got ready to leave their apartment, Hazel opened the door and Biggie just strolled right in. Honesttogod that cat is wild.
We are home now and in 63 minutes we should know if the fixer's fix fixed the washer/dryer.
Busy day!

Date: 2024-08-07 03:09 pm (UTC)I haven't tried a smart watch; I had a free one while I worked for Apple, and simply setting it up turned out to be too much like work. (To be fair, devices for internal Apple use don't come properly set up, unlike those sold to customers; internal ones are intended for testing and debugging, and come with extras for those purposes.) The watch wasn't important enough to me to climb the learning curve, once I hit its first snag - though it would have become a priority if I'd been assigned a watch bug to fix. However, watches got reorganized out of my team's responsibility soon after I acquired one.)
