A bum week
Aug. 15th, 2024 08:56 amThis week is just moldy. It's like most everything is off 10 pixels. I'm ready for it to be over.
I did enjoy volleyball this morning. But, there's a Mariner game at 10 and they suck so I'm not looking forward to it. One of the Jim's who lives across the hall has COVID and his girlfriend (who lives in another part of the complex) is going in and out of his unit and all around the complex with no mask. I'm sorry he's sick and almost more sorry that his girlfriend is so inconsiderate.
My short cut to the pool has been closed off. I suspect it's because of the fire/water damage repair. I get more steps to it's not exactly a tragedy. I did learn this morning that 18 people had to be moved out of their apartments and between guest suites and empty apartments, they were able to rehouse them all here. On the one hand, cool. On the other hand, how in the hell can we have 14 empty apartments with a 97% occupancy (this is the number they published a week or so ago)???
Whatever.
Yesterday, Myrna had her regular cardiac checkup and she asked her doctor for the names of any primary care physicians that were taking new patients. This is at Overlake. Her doctor gave her a short list and one of them was one she had actually seen once and liked. So then I spent killed an hour checking to see if that doctor is one that Humana will allow as a primary and what is covered and what is not. Their website is so slow that it is not very helpful but I was able to determine that Overlake and this doctor meet the requirements that the doctor I'm seeing tomorrow does not.
So I wrestled with what to do and finally called for an appointment. Turns out that both the Humana and the Overlake websites which say that she is seeing new patients, are wrong. She is not. But they do have one other doctor who is. Do I want the next available appointment? It will be on December 31. Er ah thanks, but no.
Way to kill an afternoon for no good reason.
Outside of the baseball game, not much on the agenda today. Just waiting out the week because I know next week is going to be way better.
Oh, here's the morning shelf.
