Well, hello there!
Aug. 15th, 2024 01:16 pmWhen I make the bears (or dolls), they are really just tubes of yarn. then they get stuffed and the legs defined and then the arms and then the ears and then the mouth and nose.
The last bit is the eyes. And all of a sudden, it comes to life. It's kind of a shock every time. I finish the second eye and invariably say "Well, hello there!"
fauxlore said that the bears needed pants so they aren't bear assed. So I tried pants on one. I don't love it. I think I'm actually a fan of bear assed!!

I just got an email asking for help carrying for a cat of one of the folks who had to move out of their apartment. I know one of the assisted living people who was moved has a cat and my guess is that they moved her into the nursing unit temporarily and there is no way to have a cat there.
I volunteered but allowed as how due to my two cats and Biggie's dietary restrictions, I might not be the best choice but if I'm the only one, I'm game.
I have three Pixel phones. My current one (7Pro), the one it replaced (6Pro) and an original Pixel. I will get the most money on trade in for the 6Pro so as soon as I get the trade in kit, off it will go. So today I went to get the Pixel out to charge it up and I could not find it.
In my condo, I had a really embarrassing amount of unused tech. Old stuff, redundant stuff, stuff that I really had no reason to have. It was all over the condo. When I moved here, I designated one basket for tech. If it does not fit in there, out the door it goes. I looked in my tech basket and it wasn't there. But that basket needed culling so I did that and organized the rest - put cables in the appropriate places and baggied like items together. Then I started a grid search for the phone. Found it. In a stupid place. This is why we have designated places! It's now charging.
Myrna's daughter and son-in-law will be here soon to get their boarding passes printed out. They both have iPhones so I'm not sure why they want paper but no big deal. Happy to do it.
They have a steak on the dinner menu this week that is large and delicious and I'm stocking up. Also the two sides I can pick are mashed potatoes and corn on the cob (which is listed as 'fresh corn on the cob'. I would not expect stale corn on the cob or even canned corn on the cob and, surely frozen corn on the cob would be prohibitively expensive... but whatever). Last night I ordered it - I ate the potatoes and corn and a small section of steak and it was so good. Then I divided the remaining steak into 2 pieces and froze it. I'm going to do the exact same thing tonight. It will make great lunches and dinners.
