Tomorrow at noon
Aug. 20th, 2024 12:45 pmThe guy from Siffel (the boutique financial outfit in St. Louis) replied nearly immediately. We have a phone date tomorrow at noon. I laid out my finances and my financial challenges and my concern about divorcing my current advisor and told him I was looking for advice.
Then I spent the morning googling how to break up with your financial advisor and be nice about it. I started out with my current guy's predecessor in 1994 - so 30 years ago. Predecessor was a fabulous, wonderful guy. Who retired. And the current guy who is neither fabulous or wonderful, took over about 10ish years ago. He has made me money. But, I don't feel that I have access to it. He is not easy to deal with and it's a PIA to even get an answer our of him.
Two years ago I needed him for a critical decision and it took 3 business days for him to respond to me which really pissed me off. He was not even very apologetic. Since then our not great relationship has gone steadily downhill.
Geoff, who despite his frufru name, is a nice, easy guy to talk to and very easy to deal with. And I like his style. Plus, his assistant, Matthew, is the same. Nice and easy. I feel like I can ask him anything and he's very responsive. I inherited him and the investments in my account there. He was very gracious when I cashed them all out (to move here to Timber Ridge).
I'm very interested in what he has to say and if it's positive, then it's going to be "I appreciate all you have done for me over the years but it is time for a change ..." so buhbye.
