If I exercise, it will be in the mornings. First thing. The rest of the day is then devoted to being a slug. If I have exercised, a guiltless slug. I sit on the couch. I get up and down but usually to go get something to drink or feed the cats. I do walk to lunch and then maybe to get the mail and maybe to get dinner but mostly I sit.

And my sitting posture is ridiculous. I either sit cross legged - which isn't too bad - or some combo of one leg out and one tucked under. And I sit for hours at a time that way. When I get up, it takes a fair amount of time to get feeling back into my feet. And, after days and days of doing this, now there is a spot on my back just above my right butt cheek that is horribly painful. This has happened before. Once I woke up and was too broken to move for nearly two days.

So... today is a new day. I can realign the couch so that where I sit is way less conducive to crinkling up my spine. Or I can sit on the other end of the couch - same result. And I need to get up at least once an hour, minimum. I swam long and hard today. It's really just a matter of paying attention to my spine. And that starts today.

Our weather is my reward. My weather app says we will not see 80 again until a week from Thursday and then low 80's for 2 days. Saturday, our high will be 58! in August! If I didn't live here, I'd move here in a skinny minute.

Today I have the phone call with my new (I hope) financial advisor at noon and then the Food and Beverage committee meeting at 1:30.

The Mariners are desperately searching for rock bottom and, I fear, are not that close. I tuned in last night just as they were beginning to relinquish their early lead. I turned it off and, sure enough, they gave up the ghost soon after and lost... again.

I have a friend who sets her watch to remind her to stand every so often. We've been together at meetings, and suddenly, she stands, seemingly for no reason. But her watch told her it was time!

Are your couch cushions wearing out where you always sit? You might be sitting lopsided without even knowing it.
