For the past two days I have had a mild but extremely annoying little tickle cough. It's probably the beginning of the end. Yet another reason for not getting my teeth cleaned - why bother? The one non silly through I have had about it, though was 'I'll ask the my doctor when I see her next...' I haven't had a 'my doctor' to ask about such things in so many years that it's a very unusual thought.

Also, on the up side, the cough has gotten me drinking way more water than usual. That has to be good for me. Everyone always says drinking water is good for you and I'm not even sure they are talking about all the extra exercise you get getting up a bazillion times to go pee.

Yesterday none of my 'holds' were ready for me at the library, so I did a hunt and peck on the 'New and Interesting' shelf and quickly found 5 good possibilities. Last night, at reading time, I picked the one on top and started reading the acknowledgments... I had only read enough of the cover and the back to learn that it was a mystery 'evoking the true South'. The acknowledgments rang familiar, So, I looked at the author info and it was written by a guy who was on the same news team at the Charlotte Observer with my ex-husband back in the day! He's looking good in his author pictures. Wild. Sadly, his novel - probably very good - just didn't hold me for the obligatory 50 pages.

Susan's tomatoes turned out to be very excellent. Way better than the normal fare you get around here. I'm looking forward to a tomato sandwich for lunch.

I have a little work that can be done today and an afternoon baseball and two Netflix choices and teddy bears to make. I'm pretty sure I have no reason to go out in the hot today which is a good thing.

Tivo has CBS Sunday Morning queued up for me and I think I'll go give it a spin now.

According to my doctor, about 15-20% of people who take Lisinopril experience a mild dry cough which generally reduces after a few weeks. (I have it -- it's gotten much less frequent, but I've also gotten in the habit of having something drinkable with me most of the time.)

Exactly what I was going to say. That's the most irritating side effect Lisinopril can have. My grandma has asthma as well as HBP, and even though Lisinopril did a beautiful job of keeping her blood pressure down, she eventually had to stop taking it because she was one of the lucky 20%. And she did not need to be coughing any more than normal.

And yes, in some people the cough does go away.

Drinking water is good. Also, if it's a tickly cough, you might try Ricola or something like that.

I was going to say the same thing...its probably the Lisinopril. I've been taking it for about 5 years now, and every now and then I still get a round of dry coughs from it. Last evening was the most recent one.

Yeah, ask your doctor about it the next time you're talking to him/her, but at the same time its not something to start writing your will over :-)
