When my cousin died, I got money. Some already and some maybe someday. I got a lawyer who is slow as christmas and not nearly as bright. But, maybe the pick of the litter is that I also got a fine financial adviser. The bulk of the investments transferred and we talked this morning. He asked for my feelings and goals for the investments and I told him that I wanted to manage nothing - I want no decisions, no involvement. I want him to do it all. I want enough money to live on and to spend on stuff I want without worrying about it. And, sorry, bro, I have no interest in saving for my heirs - I'm fine with spending the last penny on the last day.
He said that this was good, easy direction and he'd put together a plan and we'd talk next week.
I'm very relieved.
And speaking of spending money. I have a new mattress topper getting fluffed up in the dryer and today I am divorcing my sheets. A few years ago, I spent big bucks on Zip Sheets. The sheets were fine. I pretty much wore them out. The cats punctured them a couple of times and I mended. The fabric is better than most sheet fabric you can easily find these days - a nice percale. The zip function works. It's not particularly attractive but zipping the top off is really a great idea. I am not, however, buying replacements from them. The company has issues. They will not quit sending me junk mail. I unsubscribed for the first six months. They kept asking me to review. So I went to their website and gave them one star for junk mail. They responded saying how very sorry they were and it would be fixed immediately. Every single day, when I go to clean out spam, there is at least one piece of shit from them. So I sure as shit am not going to be sending them any more $$.
I think I'm just going to go over to Target and buy a new fitted sheet until I decide what I want long term. The new topper just came out of the dryer and boy, did it ever fluff up!
There's a real nice woman who's husband is in the nursing unit and she gets there and back through our elbow so we see her a lot when we are out there puzzling. Yesterday she was leaving and in her hand was the doll with the bib overalls. She said she had just gotten word that she was to be a great-grandmother for the first time and she was off right then to visit the soon to be parents. She was so excited to take them the little doll. I was so excited that she told us. These dolls are turning out to be great fun with none of the hassle of what to do with them!
Yesterday, there was one and I added another.

Then, last night, I went to add a third only to discover that the little green sweater girl had already left the nest!
