About a year ago the podiatrist told me to never go barefoot and never wear any shoe or slipper or sandal that did not have adequate arch support. I've been vigilant and my feet have never been better. I found these Dr. Scholls 3/4's arch inserts that are perfect. Cheap enough to buy some for all my shoes and short enough so they don't squish my toes (which are another whole problem).
Also it helps to swap shoes around. I forgot this rule and wore the same ones for too many days and my toes started to really cramp up. So long about Wednesday, I switched to some others and whew. So I wore them on Thursday and Friday, too.
Coincidentally, I did more walking than usual on those days. And my back was killing me. Every day. Then, last night, I discovered that for some reason, I had taken the inserts out of the shoes I've been wearing for 3 days. The Good Feet Store commercials swear that no inserts=back trouble. And since TV commercials for a shoe insert company is a rock solid way to get medical information, I know that when I got back to the shoes with inserts today, my back will be healed. Whew!
Amazon is sending me more inserts. I should sent The Good Feet Store a thank you.
Volleyball today was good we had a full court. 12 people. I made a couple of impossible shots so in addition to fun, I got a nice shot of self appreciation - exceedingly rare for me in athletics or anything physical.
Elbow Coffee starts in just a bit and then lunch and then I'm not sure what. Probably knitting and watching TV. I started Slow Horses but I'm not hooked yet. I'll give it a few more eps, at least. I hit a very boring part of the very wonderful Small Rain book I'm reading. If I were turning pages, I'd have skimmed over a good 20 pages at least. But, when you are listening, that's a little more difficult. I can speed up the narrative and just skip around but it's not the same as skimming pages. The author had interrupted the story to do a deep dive into analysis of a couple of poems. Yawn. But, I think I'm fully back to the main plot again, now. When I thought it was a memoir, I was kind of relieved to know he didn't die. But, now that it's fiction, all bets are off so I'm totally vested in seeing how this all turns out.
