1-800 is my enemy

susandennisI don't like talking on the phone ever. Ever. But the very worst in every way is when I have to call 1-800 whatever. I am now on a very annoying hold with BECU after talking to a relentlessly cheerful woman who asked me every single thing twice. And, the hold, of course tells me that rather than waiting on hold, I can just go to their website and deal with their artificial non-intelligent bot. This or water torture... I'm trying to decide.
I made transfer to my brother's bank account yesterday - BECU took the amount out of my checking account twice. I am now being transferred to technical support. I have now been on the phone for 12 minutes and have just been told, for the 7th time that my call is being recorded.
Now I on hold again.
Meanwhile. Yesterday, I got both flu and COVID shots. I have never before had any kind of reaction of any type to either and, stupidly, bragged about that to the very excellent pharmacist. Of course, that earned me not one but two very sore arms. They are both better today but also both still kind of sore. So weird. I will keep my mouth shut next time. The whole thing - at QFC - was a very pleasant experience. I will do that again. If my new insurance has a decent mail program, I'll use that but if not... I might just move my prescriptions to QFC. The kindness and patience they showed with the old woman in line before me was very impressive.
Ok, I'm off hold. BECU can see that I made the request once and that the money was transferred twice but went only once. Since this is not possible, they cannot handle it. The second woman I got was not nearly as relentlessly cheerful but, of course, by then, I had used up all my patience. She did not even tell me the call was recorded. But, she cannot fix. She's off to further investigate. "Is it all right if I call you with my findings?" "There is no need to call me, just put the money back into my checking account."
Holy fuck. We used to transfer money via Google Pay. Easy Peasy. Google killed Google Pay. Yes, we could use Zelle but I'd hate to have to deal with them over this kind of issue. Geesh. What a way to start a day!
The housecleaner did a great job and then Biggie and Julio had some kind of disagreement last night and there are big tufts of cat hair sprinkled all over the beautiful vacuum tracks.
Bitch bitch bitch - this entry is getting ugly.
I finished watching a lovely little limited series last night on Acorn. Set mostly in Belfast, it's called The Lovers and it's really endearing.
OMG the tech person called me back and Google sent her to voice mail and her voice mail said she needed to talk to me and she left no contact info so I have to start all over. By the way, my call is being recorded. This new guy tried to tell me her voice mail was scam. We are starting from scratch. Next time I am going to write a check and send it in the mail. I'm not but that thought is getting me through this latest phone call.
I would love to take a shower.
Ok, I got an answer. I think they are wrong but their answer gives me a way to get my money back and, more importantly, get off the fucking phone.
Now I am going to take a shower and scrub this morning off and start over.
