I'll be so glad when this day is over
Sep. 18th, 2024 03:16 pmOld people - at least the ones I know - start their conversations in the middle. Myrna will sit down at the puzzle table and say "I finally got her the information she wanted but it was sure not easy." And then she'll go into great detail. When she finally takes a breath, I have to pop in and ask who 'her' is and what she's talking about. It's always something reasonable and/or familiar but she just left off the first sentence or two.
John does the same. Hazel just repeats stories from her past. I've heard them all so no info is missing. It's kind of a nice rhythmic thing.
John's computer is in his den which gets the tiniest little wifi signal. The Timber Ridge IT guy told him to buy this wifi extender/accelerator thing which he did and the IT installed it for John and then two days later it quit working. It's blue light no longer comes on. I went in today and updated the driver (and enabled it - why is that two steps???) and now he has a blue light and he's very happy. He still has very crappy wifi but he's happy with the blue light.
Then it was Myrna's turn. Her mail pharmacy sent her an email that they were holding up one of her prescriptions until they heard from the doctor who they could not get a hold of. She said she had called the doctor's office and was told they wouldn't do it. From the email, I gleaned it was a contraindication question that only the doctor could answer. "Would you like me to call?" OHHHH yeah. I got a lovely woman who was very kind and not at all twitchy about talking to me instead of Myrna and she said she would fix it.
To be clear, the above two were good things. High points.
But the rest was just one annoyance after another. Julio tore my favorite bag for yarn. I punctured my finger trying to repair it. This is just next to the finger Julio punctured yesterday with his claw. My fingers are so sore.
Next up Food and Beverage meeting. There was nothing achieved and it was not even that interesting.
Amazon delivered a package that I canceled and they confirmed that I canceled. Now I have to return it.
But, I can do that tomorrow when I go to meet Frank for lunch! He's coming to town and wants to go to Issaquah Cafe which is fine by me. So tomorrow will absolutely better.
