Printers through the ages
Sep. 27th, 2024 05:04 pmSetting up a home computer printer has always been as painful as it could possibly be. I've spilt blood in the process. As recently as last year, I tried a new printer from HP and it was such a horrible experience, I sent it back. Never did get it connected to anything. I soldiered on with my tiny little cheap, old HP which finally died earlier this week.
I found a Canon PIXMA TS6420a for under $50 at Amazon Resale and it arrived today and holy motherfucker. What a difference. I actually installed it twice because I misunderstood the password situation. But, both times were a breeze and accomplished in under 5 minutes with just the printer and my phone and my wifi.
Amazing. And delightful. I don't need a printer often. And I never need a scanner. But now I haz both and they work from phone or Chromebook or probably ESP. Ha!!
Never thought I'd live long enough to see it.
