I generally get up a couple of times a night to pee and then go back to sleep. Last night I was asleep before my eyes closed and I didn't wake up until 4 but then I was done sleeping. No big deal. It did confuse the cats but they will deal. I really like the predawn morning so I'm fine with it.

Plus, I opened my door to check the hallway while my coffee was doing and found a cucumber and tomato from my friend, Steve's peapatch. We must be coming to the end and I love that he was nice enough to deliver some goodies to me. My jar of refrigerator pickles needs a refresh of cuke, so perfect.

So Comcast fucked me over. In the nicest way. I was all set to cancel at the end of this month. My one year $20 a month deal is ending. But, today I checked what next month's bill will be and it's only $15 more so I think I'll just hang on for a while or maybe til next year. I'm pretty sure I'd be fine with Timber Ridge's internet but an extra $15 might be worth it. And, if not, I can, now, after this first year, cancel without penalty any time I want.

And my printer is ready this morning. One issue I've had with cheap printers in the past was, if/when I got them functioning, they would then shut off. This 'feature' was built in and not changeable. I want to be able to print, on demand, even if it's once a month, from my phone or chromebook without having to touch the printer. (The printer lives in the utility room and is not tethered to anything but the electrical outlet.) By default my new printer goes to sleep after x amount of time BUT you can turn that off and turn on 'auto on'. And it works! Happy me.

Today will be volleyball and then elbow coffee and then probably lunch with the gang and then who knows... I think I'll go peel and slice that cuke and get it to pickling before volleyball.

We could not get our TiVo to work with the Brooksby network, so we kept our Comcast account despite the extra expense (and the general annoyance that is Comcast). I think this is just as well, since every now and again there are broadcast phone messages that the Brooksby internet (and/or the landline phone system, which interests us not at all) is down – they had a long-lasting problem with it sometime last year, and we were very glad we weren't on it.
