Yesterday, I did go out to the credit union and deposited my check. The money shows available in my account there now. But, it also shows available in my bank account. Ha the finest in check kiting. I'm temporarily double rich! When it all clears I'm going to need to go the bank (in person or on the phone - ugh to both) and make sure that IF any of those accounts are going to now start charging me a fee, those accounts get closed.
While I was out, I went to Fred Meyers. Fred Meyers is just too big a store. I really don't like it but I wanted sausage crumbles and I couldn't find them any place else. I found them there. I also picked up a couple of cheap, refrigerated quick heat egg wraps that were cheap. I thought - cool, fast breakfast option! I tried one this morning. Many thumbs down. Whew. I don't have to go back to Freddies until I run out of crumbles and I got two bags so that will be a while.
The committee fair yesterday was very interesting and kind of fun. Each committee had a table explaining their reason d'etre. The emergency preparedness table was, hands down, the best presentation and got my vote for Best Shit Together. There is a kind of memory committee who deals with people who have beginning memory issues and their care givers. They also had a great presentation and they took 2nd place in my voting. The finance committee was hilarious. They had one sheet, not many copies, explaining what they did and at the bottom it explained that 1. They don't really need/want new members. 2. They won't even consider new members who do not have proven financial bonifides. Respect.
The facilities committee, one I thought I might be interested in, turned out to be a big fat dud. No thank you. I signed up for the Food and Beverage group. I at least finally got their mission statement.
Oh and the library committee asked me if I'd help them introduce audio books. I said I would. That was like donating the sleeves from my vest. They aren't not going to ever get that going.
But it was fun and it was interesting and I was glad I went.
Today is house cleaner day.
And really, that's all I got.
The shelf 'army' (as my friend, Steve, calls it) is still growing.
