Gettin' there...

No sun today! In fact, seattlejo reports rain in her part of town (north of here). We're dry but heavenly cool. It's still warm inside here - residual - so I went out for a little 'hood stroll this morning. I had planned on a more extensive walk than I took but I got about 4 blocks and realized I had come without my water bottle and if I was hit with a coughing fit, I'd be fucked. So back home for me.

These days my going for a walk is beginning to resemble a pro tennis player's walk onto the court. I've got so much stuff... keys, camera, phone, water bottle and then headphones maybe and tissues and chapstick. I need a damn RV. Geeesh.

But it was nice out. It did smell a little like rain. And I made it back without a coughing fit.

Today does not look busy work wise. And, actually, it does not look like there is going to be much going on until next week. But, after that, things should get back to fully occupied so I can handle one more dull week.

I think today's dullness may be offset by a leeetle trip to Target. I have a short list of things that if Target doesn't have, one of the other shops around there will. I haven't fully committed to the prospect yet. We'll see. I going to give my one client a bit of time to come out of the woodwork this morning. If she's got stuff for me to do I want to be here ready to do it.

From time to time, some car thing (tires, I think) uses the football stadium parking lot (aka My Front Yard) as a test area. They set up cones in a swervy pattern and then proceed to spend a couple of days squealing tires. They were out there yesterday and still set up this morning. I had planned to get some closeup photos of the cones and swervy lines and stuff but it was heavily guarded. ??!! So all I managed was a funky foto of moi...

Last week I bought myself a fanny pack for this very reason. I keep my marchables in it, and just grab it on the way out the door.

More studly than a manpurse, less clunky than a backpack.

That looks like the back end of a Reliable truck. They're the ones that haul prototype cars for the car makers. They usually take the cars down to the salt flats in Nevada to test them out with a heavy guarding from the other car maker's spies.

You are TOTALLY correct! Good eye! I just drove by on my way back from Target and see that, in fact, testing cars is EXACTLY what they are doing - if nothing else gave it away the testoterone laiden crowd watching sure did! They are testing away - tires squealing as I type this!
