Tomorrow is Salmon Days - a little festival in downtown Issaquah. Timber Ridge is taking those of us who want to go and will drop us off and pick us up which is the easiest way in the world for something like that. The only issue is my always issue, being outside. This time of year it can be way too hot and sunny (like yesterday) OR raining and cold (like today). But, it appears as if we will have a goldilocks day for the adventure. I'm going with Myrna, of course. She will be way too cold and bundled in layers. I will be way too hot. We will be fine.

She came over last night "I need your smarts, please." She had her glucose meter with her and it said that it was August 27 at 2:58 pm. It was easy peasy to set right. She said "I probably could have figured it out (and she could have) but I thought Julio needed some petting and you could do it much faster." I told her it would cost her and got out my Cerave for rubbing in my back.

She burst out laughing. ??? WTF? Then she explained that on her calendar yesterday was Susan Back. "I have been trying to figure out all day where you went and why I needed to know you were back!" She had said the other day, when she first lotioned up my back, "we should do this every few days" and then, apparently, put it on her calendar.

Last fall when I was buying shit from IKEA for this apartment, I found a cheap, bright comforter that I tossed into on order. I put it on the bed last week. My bedroom temperature fluctuates between 66 and 67 degrees so it's lovely and cold when I snuggle in for the night. And while I love the look of this IKEA comforter, I kept waking up too hot to sleep! It's fine for going to sleep but a bear for staying asleep. Yesterday, I woke up at 4:30. So yesterday, while Myrna was at the doctor's, I went to Value Village (a resale shop) and scored a lovely quilt - cotton and soft and worn ($17). Last night I slept like the dead and did not wake up this morning until 7:30. My sleep recording bed recorded a new high for me.

No plans for today except the usual. It's new menu day and Use Up Your Meal Money time of the month. I am going to have to pay attention in order to do the latter. I am out of snickerdoodles so, if all else fails...

I finished up the bear in this shelf photo last night and this morning he's gone a long with one of the dolls.

Proper sleep is the BEST. So are snickerdoodles. 😋

An over-hot comforter makes a lovely *underlayer* if you like a soft bed, in my experience....

Where did you learn how to do long twin braids hair like that? With a base colour underneath and just a couple of strings!!! I have real trouble when I try to make hair for knitted dolls. I have a couple dolls with more hair than body because I was trying to make them realistic strands and it gets so darn thick. I might try this and see how I feel about it. Thanks for posting! :)
