YouTube Expense
Oct. 10th, 2024 02:16 pmYouTube keeps throwing up these videos about my GE washer/dryer combo. That's probably because I keep watching them. I already had one problem which was fortunately fixed under warranty. BUT, it did make me rethink the decision to buy this thing and recommit to how much I really love it.
I've been vigilant about sucking out all the lint with every use. And now, from these videos, I have a few more things I do - actually same but just getting lint from different places and cleaning.
One woman who's review I watched before I bought it, has since abandoned it for a traditional stacked washer and dryer. Then today I watched a guy tear the whole machine down and to clean out even more lint. He raised some issues along the way.
So. I spent $330 on a 3 year protection plan. It's $50 deductible but then covers everything. I hope hope hope I never ever have to use it. But at least I can watch the occasional video without having a panic attack.
------
The Timber Ridge Times came out and the pictures and bit about my dolls and bears was fine. Innocuous and nice.
-----
Myrna's new watch came and she's delighted. I paired it with my phone. My phone's in her range often enough so that will work fine. She only wants steps. But will be glad to know how well she slept and if her heart stops. It has a nice, big screen and an actual button. Not bad for $15. (The one I broke had this very finicky touch screen that was always saying she was playing basketball or hockey.) The magnetic band I got did not fit but I've ordered a new one that will be here tomorrow.
The bear I finished before lunch is now gone and we're back to zero on the shelf.
