I started off this entry with two stupid rants that basically just pointed out how much smarter and sharper I think I am than the average bear (I think being the key words there). Meaningless and pointless and really not a good look even for me. So... delete delete delete.

Let's go with Good Morning! Fitbit and I believe I had a great night's sleep. (The bed app hasn't reported in yet.) Also Fitbit says no AFib for a week so that proves I'm cured. Oh the bed just reported that it, too, thinks I got great sleep.

I found episode 1 of the new season of the Canadian Baking Show on YouTube and enjoyed it. I love that their aprons all have their names on them. I still have Friday's British episode to watch. But when something like that, or Jeopardy or the evening news comes onto YouTube, I've learned to stop and watch right then because it will, likely, be gone in a few hours.

Random shot from yesterday. They fight and often end up in different rooms after but just as often, they do stuff in tandem. Like view and discuss whatever it was outside the window.

No big plans today. Myrna's in church and then has a ticket to the symphony in Seattle (she goes on the Timber Ridge bus), so I'm on my own. I'd really like to just watch TV and knit. And mostly I will but I do think maybe I'll go for a swim.

I spent a long time yesterday cleaning out my washer/dryer. The lint filter is a little more involved that your average dryer lint filter and it wants more than just running your fingers through the top layer of lint every once in a while. So I decided to buy a second one both for insurance and to use when the first one is out for a deep clean. Turns out they are two piece. The filter assembly and the handle. They are not cheap but what I discovered that people who bought a spare for my exact reasons generally mentioned in comments that they wish they had gotten one with the handle. So I bought a handle and filter both. $80. Probably a waste of money. But, insurance.

Speaking of insurance. Tuesday is the day. Tuesday is when the new Medicare + plans will be announced a long with pricing and I can at least see the difference between Humana this year and last. I'd really like to kick them to the curb BUT if I cannot get another plan, they have to keep me so I still have a bit of a vested interest.

I have now waited until the sun is in the perfect position to ruin a swim. So I think I'll wind up some small balls of yarn for more dolls/bears/cats. The pink sweater bear was adopted yesterday. The shelf last night (and this morning, I just checked).

You probably are smarter than the average bear, and most likely even the average human.

Still, aging has taught me that pride in abilities like that is somewhat misplaced - they go away. I'm reasonably sure I'm less above average in some things than I used to be, and quite possibly now below average in others. (All this ignores things I was never any good at.) I have much better empathy now for people who struggle(d) with things I found easy, even those I still find easy.

I've deleted whole posts after I reread them and realize just writing it was enough, I didn't need to publicize my nasty feelings.

You're very wise to take such pains with your lint trap. Before T moved to NZ, she was in London, in a flat with a washer/dryer. One evening I answered the phone and she said "The flat's on fire!". Yep, it was the washer/dryer and apparently they do have a greater risk of catching on fire. She was lucky to get away unscathed.
