susandennisVolleyball, this morning, was way better. I played way far away from Sylvia Scissorhands. And the asshole was way less assholey than usual. Elbow coffee was also way better. No disaster preparedness talk. Richard, who generally brings any bright conversion down, was nicely quiet this morning. We had laughs and it was good.
Martha asked me before about making a special something for Emily. Emily is a staff member who is pregnant. We are asked often to NEVER give gifts or tips to staff members. I told Martha last time that I would not make anything for Emily because I think the rule is important and I do not want to break it. Today she's back on it again. I told her I would make a white cat with a red bow if she never mentioned to me what she wants to do with it AND if she makes me ginger bread or gingerbread cookies - not ginger snaps but ginger bread. I think we have a deal. (She's a great and prolific baker.)
Myna's all worried about the puzzle. Here at the cult, on Thursday, Halloween, they are serving one meal - a middle of the day buffet. Myna likes to set the table in the elbow and have all of us eat there together. She loves doing it and loves fretting about it. The current puzzle is only 500 pieces and is half done. It will be finished by tomorrow. Long before Thursday. But, already she's worried about it.
Oh! *Hilarious Myrna Alert*. She was worried about her cremation. She wanted it all settled and paid for before she died. So I looked up a crematory - local - and wrote down the number and she made all the arrangements. It took about a month because Myrna was confused and the crematorium lady only works part time because she has a new baby. Well, once Myrna heard about this, she demanded to see said baby. So the crematorium lady brought the papers over here for Myrna to sign and brought the baby. It was a BIG day.
Cut to a few weeks later. She calls me into her apartment to show me what she got. She wanted something to give each of her two kids and Timber Ridge that says who to contact and what to do with her body. The crematorium lady made up two cards one for Eric and one for Melissa - with all the info they need. Pretty little cards and she had laminated them! I was impressed.
Then yesterday, I was over there for something else and she told me, with a massive twinkle in her eye, that she was slipping the crematory cards into the kids' Halloween cards. "Do you think this one is too on point?" It had a giant BOO! and when you open it up it says "Did I scare you?". And our falls the instructions of what do do with her dead body!
She cracks me up.
Shelf last night. The cat left early this morning and the doll, later. I think the bear is still there now.
