Brandon came back after lunch yesterday to hook up my box. Turns out, my guess was correct. Comcast wants their $10 a month. Without it, no box hookup. He tried. Then he spent way too long trying to get the remote to work. I knew it wasn't going to but he knew better. I was right again. He's a nice guy but a little of him goes a long way and I had a lot of him yesterday.

I sat down to knit and watch the final episode of the latest Lincoln Lawyer (Netflix). That was about 2. I was interrupted about every 10 minutes. I'd deal with the interruption and then go back to the Lincoln Lawyer and just get into it when... lather, rinse, repeat. I finally finished it about 6:30.

Brandon had said that with Myrna's setup, when they turned off her account, her hardware would just flip to the Timber Ridge free TV. So I told Myrna she would likely not see a change.

Imagine our surprise when neither of her TV boxes worked at all when she went to turn on the 5pm news! And, of course Brandon was gone for the day. He now has a voicemail, an email and a work order to fix ASAP.

She often skips the news and listens to one of the music channels while she reads. So, after I had tried and failed to fix the TV situation, she pulled out a radio/CD player. The thing got an amazing radio signal. She had a CD that her son in law had given her for Christmas last year so she pulled the cellophane off of that and I showed her how to play it. She was happy.

Then Joan had a computer issue. Instead of getting her a simple Chromebook (I had recommended to her and her grandson/it guy) that she could carry around they bought her a new Windows machine that she has no idea how to operate. Fortunately, last night's issue was with her online banking and she said she needed to call the bank. I beat a hasty retreat.

Oh and Martha came by and now I can't even remember what she wanted.

And in the middle of all this, I went to pee and my ass hit stone cold toilet seat. WTF???? I've had a fancy toilet seat bidet for years and years. Among its many charms, it keeps the seat nice and warm. My ass expects nice and warm. It is most unhappy with stone cold. The thing was plugged in and working but ooops the remote was out of battery. Fixed that, turned the seat and water heat back on and ahhhhhhhhh. At least one crisis fixed.

Today, hopefully, Brandon will fix Myrna's TVs. Then there is a buffet thing for Halloween and whenever there is a buffet, Myrna likes to set the tables in the elbow and have us all eat together. It's a lovely idea that she fusses over for days before. The placemats were laid out two days ago. I haven't looked but i'm guessing the silverware is out now and the plates. We'll all go down together and get our food and bring it back up here. And she'll cluck all over everyone to make sure everyone is happy. Repeat at Thanksgiving, repeat at Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Years. Unless she goes to Arizona. (Her daughter wants her to but she's on the fence.)

I would dearly like a day off. Tomorrow some guy is coming in with a presentation on how not to get scammed. Everyone's quite excited about it. I suspect it will be a packed house. And that will for sure give me a couple of hours for me.

Volleyball was good. A couple of weeks ago, I forgot to wear my elbow brace and discovered that my tendinitis - volleyball elbow - was cured! The heal has stuck so yeah.

These were all I managed to finish yesterday. One was gone this morning and I suspect the other will be gone by lunch. I have a doll ready for stuffing. So I'll get him out there after I get dressed this morning.
