Back again
Dec. 1st, 2024 11:04 amI did get the laundry done and went to bed at 7:30 - I slept better than my bed said I did. I woke up at 5:30 and got my shit together and went down to pick up Myrna's mail and then hit the road. I've been stopping at McDonald's which is on the way - sausage biscuit and coffee. I might get frisky tomorrow and do an egg McMuffin. No promises.
I got here at 6:30 and Myrna didn't wake until 8 so I had a lovely quiet time with me.
She is pretty much the same. Sharp as a tack at times and out of it at times. She told me that she kicked Gary and Jenn out last night cause she was tired. They asked if they could come back and she said no. hahahaha Myrna tells it like she sees it.
She had a good breakfast and things were going fine until the occupational therapist came in. Her shit was not together. Every therapist who comes in here says 'why don't they have a walker in here? why don't they have Mya commode in here? why don't they have....' Guess what, kids? I got no fucking idea. Deal with it yourself. The therapists have a checklist and godforbid the patient not be up to the task, they have their checklist. This last one was a mess. She would not tell Myrna what she wanted or what she was going to do (lower the bed, raise the bed, etc). And she just wore her the fuck out. She finally realized it and said 'I'm going to tell the physical therapist to wait a while before coming back.' Good idea.
Myrna took one of the stronger pain pills and is now sound asleep. It's 11:15.
The doctor was in and he's getting better. He said that he placed the order for the spinal injection yesterday early and they run pretty much on a first come first serve deal - so hopefully. He said she should get immediate relief for about 12 hours, then there will be about two days of no relief at all and then the shot will kick in for good. I asked if the rehab place will understand this and he said 'no'. He also said that Tuesday would now be the earliest that she would be discharged.
They just tried to give her a medication (Jardiance) that gave her a massive vaginal infection when she tried it before and her doctor told her to stop it until they could meet again at her January appointment. I told them when they first admitted her that while Jardiance was on the list, she was NOT taking it. Be great to add vaginitis to everything else. Sheesh.
I wouldn't mind going home early today but it's also ok if I'm needed here. The cats are fine. The laundry is done. I have food in the fridge.
Oh the tire light went on in the care this morning. Fuck. On Sunday. Fuck. My car has this button you can push that resets the tire reader - it essentially tells the sensor light that whatever the pressure is now is what it should be so go off and stay off until it changes. I pushed that button and so far so good. I do not want a flat tire. Now or ever.
