Myrna seems to go in weird cycles. She'll be fine and alert and comfortable and then, within an hour, she'll be back to asking where she is and in really bad pain. I got here this morning and her light was on and she was mostly awake (5:30) but in pain. And she stayed in pain for an hour. Now she is more comfortable (thank you, oxy). I brought her some catalogs and her mail. She opened up a statement from express scripts and has been looking at it now for 10 minutes.

I ordered her breakfast so, hopefully, that will perk her up.

As I was leaving last night, I got a notification that my Nest web cams were down. Checked the other cams and the Litter Robot and they were all offline. Fuck. Another power outage??? I was in the car so I didn't check anything else but I did alter my route to avoid the stoplights near home. It was 5:30 and everyone was going home from work on a very busy road. If the stoplights were out, I'd be better off turning around and sleeping here in Myrna's room. The other route still has one stop light and it was functioning fine and, the lights were all on at Timber Ridge. It was the internet that was down.

It was only a big deal because I needed to log onto Myrna's email and bank account. Finally managed that with my phone's hot spot. Bank of America calls you for verification. They have to use a number they have connected to the account. Or you can log on to the account. Myrna cannot get to her phone or her computer. They got no wiggle room. I did manage to flag the bad purchases, confirm the last one she (I) made and get the card frozen. She does have Morgan Stanley guy who handles everything. I'll call him this morning.

The cats are fine. Bonny scored me some Pepperidge Farm Gingerman cookies! The house cleaner will come today. There is so much about my living arrangement that can go for long stretches without my intervention. That makes it easier to hang here at the hospital.

Hopefully, they will come get Myrna soon for her back injection so that she'll have the afternoon and evening to recover. The transport (assuming it's still on) should happen tomorrow morning before 11.

Ooh - those Gingerman cookies sounded good - I got some and they are tasty! Just FYI - they are very similar to "Anna's Swedish Ginger Thins" if you get a craving during the rest of the year when they are not available :D I also ended up getting some of those, since I was reminded of them :D

amazon is way overcharging - Walgreen's and CVS carry them for $3-4/pack

I think the meds and pain are playing with her brain. Pretty common for a 92 year old. Hopeful the procedure works and she can get off the drugs.

Myrna's cycles of confusion make total sense - pain hugely increases likelihood of delirium (which is in itself very common in seniors in hospital). They're not clear on the exact cause but it seems to have something to do with cerebral stress. Hopefully, once she gets the injection and it fully kicks in, it'll resolve. I think it's a good sign that once she gets pain relief she seems fine.
