I had a fair number of expenses related to Myrna (hilarious considering the whole my stealing money from her thing) and I have not had the focus I need to do my austerity program right so I'm doubling down.

This morning I woke up early and that was on my mind so I got up, made coffee fed the cats and got out my calculator. I figured out how many cans of cat food (184) I need in a month and who had the best price (Amazon). I cancelled all of my subscribe and save items. I'll subscribe when I order if I can save money.

(Turns out Costco's cat food is cheaper but not enough to justify the hassle of buying it there.)

And I looked at options for using up my meal money. I placed an order for lunch today that will eat up some and give me food that is bankable (freezer=bank). Today we get menus for next week so I can place a big order for tonight or plan one for Monday/Tuesday.

And I've taken up Prolific again. My brother has been doing it on and off for years but I stopped a long time ago because it was annoying and I didn't really need the cash. But, as he reported, it's far more organized and interesting now and the playoffs are better. And I'm more easily able and willing to work it into my day to day. It appears I can easily cover the cat food bill by just filling out their surveys!

And it's a great thing to do when I wake up too early.

One thing I did splurge on yesterday (to be delivered today) is more command hooks. I need a place to toss clothing that is not worthy of being rehangered but not yet ready for the hamper. I have some in my closet now but I need to rearrange them and add more to the closet and more to the backs of doors. My house is now tidy again after the last few weeks of inattention. And I want to keep it that way.

Today is Costco and Safeway. I have a list. But... it's not quite 7 so I have a bit before it makes sense to head out.

I'm not familiar with Prolific, but another survey thing that I do for payout is called MyPoints. They pay out in amazon cards or other stores. Kind of fun to do when I have time. Maybe I'll check out the Prolific one you are mentioning.

Prolific now requires people creating new accounts to upload an actual piece of ID before you can start doing anything. And depending on where you live in the world, the only acceptable option might be your passport details. I had created an account before this was the policy, but never got around to actually doing anything with it. Then when I went back to it a couple of years later, the ID policy was in place and they were treating me as a new account because I'd never completed an actual survey previously. I am not comfortable with uploading my passport details or any other piece of ID so it's no Prolific for me.

I 100% missed the whole stealing accusation thing. I'm sorry her son did that, sounds like he is a jackass.
Good to hear things are getting back to normal.
