All the increases are in - TR rent increase, condo HOA increase. All the decreases are in - social security decrease, rental income gone. Last year I had about $2000 in surplus each month. 2025 will see a deficit each month of $2,700. And zero for cat food, tv subscriptions, and other frivolities. I have cash on hand to cover that deficit and the cat food for about 5 months.
My long term plan is to combine the condo sale proceeds with my current investments and, hopefully, add the rest of the inheritance from my cousin and live off of those proceeds for the rest of my life. But, getting there could be a squeaker!
Oh well, I have a lovely roof over my head and delicious food and free wifi. A squeaker, yes but a rather posh one. The only one who will really suffer is Amazon. Sorry, buddy.
Noelle came over yesterday afternoon and we talked about Myrna and what to do. She wanted Melissa (Myrna's daughter) contact info. I gave it to her. Then we chatted. I explained my position. Myrna is making her choices or Eric is making her choices (or, for that matter, Melissa is making her choices) - we do not know, nor is it right for us to interfere. They all three know how to contact me and others here at Timber Ridge. If/when they do and want us to do something, we'll hop to. Until then, there is nothing we should be doing. She is afraid that Myrna has lost the will to live. At 92, that is her choice and her right and not something we can or should effect. (And, honestly, I believe that at any age, a person should have the right to do what they want to with their own life.) When she first came in, I handed her the card with Melissa's phone number on it. Before she left, she handed it back to me. And thanked me.
I did find out that I am only a couple of months younger than she is but, as I pointed out to her, we are not the youngest on this hall... Jim, across the hall, is one month younger than me!
I got my external hard drive and copied my patterns and my music onto it and then did a Google Take Out of email and docs and put it on and set up a calendar event to do that every 4 months.
Today is new menu day. I have the morning off since the eye doctor canceled on me. My CPA appointment isn't until 2. I think I'll see if Hazel and John are doing lunch and tag along.
