I am getting perilously close to the end of my butter and my egg population is thinning so I think a trip to the grocery may be on the calendar for today. I may even get wild and crazy and go to QFC. Myrna always wants to go to Safeway so that's where I've been shopping for the last year. She gets prescriptions at QFC but groceries at Safeway. But, heck, now I can swing into QFC and get whatever the fuck I want! It's a kind of small and dark and depressing store but it's different and I'm sure they have butter and they may have eggs. Although the latter is not a certainty around here these days.
Tomorrow I take Biggie in for his pee test and the vet is just next to QFC so this whole endeavor could be moved to tomorrow.
Today is the Residents Council Meeting. Each floor has representatives and then there are all the committees like Food and Beverage and Safety and Education etc. Each committee reports at this meeting. This is old people with weak voices and no hearing... They pass around a microphone that works maybe 42% of the time. So mainly it's ASMR yelling with a lot of What? Can you Repeat that? and a lot of side 'what did he say?' 'Is that mic broken?'
Our 3rd floor representative lives on the other side of the building where most of the 3rd floor lives. I don't know those people and don't care. Nor am I really interested in any of the other floors.
I actually wouldn't mind a one page bullet report of the meeting but it sure ain't worth 2 hours of actual attendance. So, thanks, but I'll pass.
This week they had a meeting where the management reviewed the budget which I think is wild. This is a private corporation. They provide a service we pay for. Why the fuck do they even bother revealing their budget to us? Makes no sense to me but they do it every year and the old people pick it apart like vultures. They only thing I really care about is whether or not they are going to convert the pool to salt water. They said they were last year but then canceled it. Apparently there was no mention this year so yeah!
So TV and knitting on the schedule for today for sure but it may be more book listening and knitting. I started a new book last night. I meant to listen to 5 minutes and then reject. But, it turned out to be one of those one-word-begs-the-next until the end kind of books - at least the first 20 minutes were. I hated to stop it but it was sleep time.
