So... I was out in the elbow this morning working on the puzzle when Melissa and Ken - Myrna's daughter and son-in-law came off of the elevator.

The last time I saw them in that situation, they were all over the puzzle wanting to help.

Today I sang out a very welcome "Good Morning!" and they both just stared at me and went on to Myna's apartment where they exchanged some words and walked back to the elevator - giving me another stink eye - and left.

So, fuck 'em. I sent a note to Myrna's brother and asked him to send any news he hears and explained the new black out situation here. Bonny has been getting her mail every day and popping into the apartment to make sure all is ok. Joan says that Melissa and Ken told Bonny they wanted NO ONE to enter her apartment or 'touch her mail'.

I'm done. I'm so sorry for Myrna. But, the assholes that are her children are assholes. (how very articulate of me - fuck 'em)

I'm so sorry, Susan. What a sad and unfair situation.

It sounds like you and Myrna had a lovely friendship, and you helped her a lot, and you appreciated each other's company. I enjoyed reading about it, and it's still real, regardless of how crummy Myrna's kids are being now.

This thing with Myrna sickens me. Frankly, families suck, and dysfunction runs rampant. You're wise to stay out of it, but sadly, it's at Myrna's expense. Her kids are "circling the wagons" and keeping everyone out - not just you. I can't help but think they've only got eyes on their inheritance. It's all about money.

Over the years I've so enjoyed reading about your life. Myrna was a hoot to also read about and I could tell you thought she was a special too. When push came to shove you were there for her and we all know it. To be dealt with in the manner you have was wrong. I hope she gets better but I'm not sure her kids agree.

Myrna is in her 90s, right? So then her kids are full grown adults, and thus too old to be like they are. You did so much for Myrna, and for them to treat you like this is just wrong. I hope her brother keeps you in the loop.

When you mentioned a while back that Myrna was adamant that she didn't want anyone to call her adult children, I thought how I would be so upset if my mom wasn't doing well and didn't want anyone to tell me. But now, knowing their characters, it makes total sense. They should be thanking you for the way you helped their mom instead of being ungrateful assholes. God forbid their mom have a good friend and they really suck for depriving her (and you) of that.

Death and the promise of money bring out the absolute worst in some people. Well, I guess it just brings out who they really are.
The way they're treating you is horrible after all you did to help. Myrna must miss you after all the time you spent together, and it seems as though they're gatekeeping.

*glares* Again, I just want to say thank you from the universe for all you did for Myrna. It's very clear why she kept her kids at (more than) arm's length for so long. Ugh.

Unwanted drama

Hi ,
I am sorry you are having to deal with this unwanted drama. Sometimes no matter how hard one tries to live a simple drama free life, people who love to create drama will force their dramatic ways on others.
Many years ago I was the subject of a dramatic lunatics accusations. Looking back on it I see how how this person had backed themselves into a corner and would only look foolish if they relented on their accusations (which were ridiculous and proven false many times).
This might be the case with the adult children ( literal and figuratively speaking) . They just cant swallow their pride to acknowledge their error.
As someone else pointed out they have had enough time to look over the banking records and see where the money went.
It's much easier to focus on Biggies cat drama. Hope all is well with your magnificent cat Master.
Vicariously enraged on your behalf. Maybe you should start meeting their silly glares with equally churlish eyerolls.

If you and Myrna got married she'd have a legal spouse who could make it clear to the asshole kids that if they want to stay in the will they'll need to clean up their acts (like shower daily, in the bidet.)
