Volleyball was lovely. Elbow coffee was ok. I did learn that Melissa and Ken (Myrna's daughter and son-in-law) had visited with several of my neighbors and the reports were generally that they were strange and borderline rude. But they reported that Myrna is better.

They showed up at elbow coffee and ignored everyone's invitation to join and did not sit down. Melissa pulled out a pair of eyeglasses and held them up while she read off of a sheet from a yellow pad. What she read was beyond weird. It was also lengthy. Apparently Bonny had picked up the glasses from Myrna's bedside table and taken them to her. Melissa's statement said, not kindly, that they were not Myrna's and she does not know who's they are but using someone else's glasses is both bad for the eyes and dangerous as they could cause a fall.

And at that, she put them on the table and they turned and left. Someone called out as they were entering the elevator "how's Myrna?" and Ken shouted from behind the door 'better'.

It was just beyond weird.

I had lunch with John and Hazel and we discussed. I noted that they (Myrna's children) seemed so the opposite of her and then John and Hazel said that I was not really correct. "She can be pretty mean and thoughtless sometimes." Wow. John and Hazel are not the type to bitch about people at all. They have a daughter-in-law that they don't like and they rarely ever even complain about her. So I was a little taken aback.

Who the fuck knows. It's going to be very weird if/when Myrna ever comes back. Very weird.

Here on the Susan front, I got the fringe attached to the rug and it looks great. My brother snidely remarked that my new rug fringe looked like a cat toy to him. Julio must be reading my journal again.

My refrigerator pickle jars were getting low on goods so yesterday I got them a new cucumber and a new onion. Today I cut both up and added them into the soup. Yum.

And then started my next project. I went through my dresser and emptied out stuff I no longer wear. Then I went to the storage unit and revisited everything in there. If I ever need more room, I identified 3 large items that can be tossed or donated. I brought two bags in and am going through them now. I'll take a load down to the donate box in front.

And then I will probably take the rest of the day off. My fringe project ate into my doll work and I only finished one. She's already been adopted so I need to get back to work.

Yesterday I was curious when you said you got a rug to cover a stain. I looked on your camera site. Half of the rug was flipped over and some skeins of yarn were on the floor.

I wonder who did that.

Myrna's kids do sound STRANGE. I'm fascinated, though. Keep up the updates.

This is beyond weird. Family dynamics are rarely understood by anyone outside the family, so nothing makes sense. God knows what happened, but you can be assured it has nothing to do with you.

BTW -- I love that rug, but I think the kitties love it more! 🤣

I did wonder how alluring the fringe was going to be! Entire rug: best toy ever! When I moved into my house there were two long rugs in the hallway on a wooden floor and the cats' favourite pastime was racing down the hallway, leaping onto a rug and skidding it into a pile. Adorable to watch, but a slightly lethal trip hszard in the middle of the night. We had to get rid on the rugs in the end before we broke our necks on them.

Forgot to add: the fact that you never saw that side of Myrna means you brought the best out in her, which is kinda nice.

Melissa and her husband sound very much like my brother and his wife. They deal with practicalities and facts - no emotion involved. I wonder if Myrna's daughter and husband even realise how they come across, because the emotions of people who care about Myrna may not even be on their radar. Or maybe they are just arseholes 🤷🏼‍♀️
