Biggie's vet sent a note last night to tell me that his ph levels are the same on the cheap food + pills that they were on the expensive food so yeah! Plus I can save by buying his drugs in 6 months supplies so yeah yeah! Kind a weird to put money down on Biggie's living another 6 months. Since they told me he would not last a year when I adopted him, and then he did his best to make that come true again and again and again. But, now, maybe...

My nose finally stopped running yesterday and so far today. Weird how it does that - some days it's intolerable and some days it's normal. Stupid nose.

There was talk of cancelling volleyball today. There was a lot of 'I won't be here's' at the last game. BUT, Linda and Bob (a couple) said they would be and I would be so we figured we'd have 3 anyway and give it a go.

Well... several of the 'I won't be here's' turned up anyway plus a couple of others who don't play regularly and then a ringer. The son of a woman who has lived here a long while. He's apparently played with this group before - several knew him. Also, clearly, he's played some real volleyball and turned out to be an excellent player and a generous one and a pretty one (gorgeous smile and he did his swim suit justice as well), too! Timber Ridge rules do not allow him to play with us but the Fitness Director was out today and her assistant, kindly, 'didn't see him' so it worked out fine and it was fabulous fun. We had a full 'court' and it was great.

Today is house cleaner day. I'd say there's a better than even chance she will be a no show and they will try to squeeze me in another day. I'm not stressed one way or another.

My brother said the new rug looked like a cat toy and Julio bought that program totally. He's spends all his time now with Rug Adventures. Under it, over it, around it and repeat. It is getting that lovely distressed look. Glad I didn't pay big bucks.

They are only serving one meal today. A special Christmas Eve dinner for which you have to have made special reservations with a convoluted system. The menu did not look thrilling so I got some turkey and dressing and cranberry sauce at Safeway. I'm good. Tomorrow is a buffet lunch which is also supposed to be special but probably will be meh. I may or may not. Haven't decided.

If we had a wind storm, it was a silent one and there is no evidence left behind. They are talking more storms later in the week so I didn't put the lantern away yet.

I'm in GA. Weather looks good. We had Christmas on the 15th when m military son was able to make it home, so tomorrow is very casual. My daughter and her husband will come by at some point. But we've already done the formal stuff, so we'll just have eggnog and Bailey's and exchange a couple gifts that I forgot first christmas.

he did his swim suit justice as well

That might mean any number of things, so I won't speculate. Well, maybe I'll speculate privately.

Brooksby does only brunch (with reservations that I'd bet are not easy to get) on major holidays. We're not doing that. (We did make dinner reservations for tomorrow – Boxing Day – but then unmade them when we remembered that we're going to a concert in Cambridge that evening.)

We had 4-5" inches of snow on Friday and another dusting yesterday, so we're actually having a white Christmas, which hasn't happened around here in a long time. (Sunny and clear today, so everything looks lovely.)
