Iced in

There is no snow yet today. We've actually got blue sky. BUT from where I sit, there looks like a substantial layer of ice is covering everything. I'm right now watching a car slide into the garage, not easily but he made it. This time tomorrow, I'm scheduled to go to physical therapy which is a drive - not far, but a drive - from here. There is more snow, rain and ice in the forecast between now and then. So I just called and canceled. "you aren't the only one to cancel this morning" is what the nice lady told me. But, done and now I don't have anything I need to go out for until a week from today. Which works for me.

We got some shocking/not shocking news at volleyball this morning. Our best and our youngest (same person) player is leaving. Will has lived here 5 years and is something close to 65. He's more than likely the youngest person living here. The average age of mid-80's may just slip upward with his leaving. He's a weird but a very nice guy and a very good player. He's moving a regular 55 and older community up the road a piece. It's not a continued care place like Timber Ridge. It's a gated community of condos with lots of amenities like pickleball and other sports stuff but old people version. You own the condo and pay home owners dues. No dining options. No health stuff. No care stuff. Resident governed. It's not someplace I would be at all interested in living but he said he looked at the years he had left and the price trajectory here and there just made more sense for him. He is too young for here.

So... that promotes me to Youngest Volleyball Player!!! Go me!

I have thought about and looked at (online) other places like this. So far each has a fatal flaw. Walk outside to get to the dining room???? Park outside???? NFW. Timber Ridge has its issues and it is pricey and I'm perfectly happy here.

I'll be a little happier once the condo sells and if/when SteveTheLawyer actually distributes the money my cousin intended me to have. BUT even for now, I have a plan to cover expenses for a comfortable while. So all is good even now.

And in other big news, I stumbled on a new (to me) series (on Max) that looks very promising. Banshee was, apparently, a series that ran on Cinemax from 2013 to 2016. I never heard of it at all and found it in the 'if you like this, then try' section. Most of the stuff I find here is junk but this one looks like it's going to be hours of good watching.

Today is house cleaning day but I have my doubts. No big deal.

Julio has taken to watching TV with me at night. Well, napping here here while I watch TV. He is relaxing as he gets older.

I'm glad you are enjoying the snow from your nice, warm space. Just reading about the guy and the garage had me gritting my teeth.

Banshee is plenty of fun and nicely made, if a little corny at times.

Did SteveTheLawyer steal the money? Like, spend it somewhere and just lie about you getting it?
